    Hi Everyone,

I am just curious about something. I was diagnosed with Stage IV HER2+ metastatic breast cancer in 2/2016, spread to ribs, spine, skull, femur and liver. I had radiation and chemo at the beginning. I have now only been on Herceptin, Perjeta every three weeks and Zometa every 12 weeks.

My cancer has been stable since September of 2016 and my health now is pretty good. My question is I wonder how long some of us have been on Herceptin and Perjeta and if/when you began to have symptoms again. I have read that the latests stats are that it extends life by about five years. What has been your experience?

    Thank you and be well,

    Nancy

I just started this along with taxotere. Five years isn't enough for me, I know that much.

Hi, I just saw both of your posts. On the website "Living Beyond Breast Cancer" Their is a podcast on Her2 positive cancer done in August 2016 (and you can still access it) and one of the women had been on Herceptin for almost 19 years. I also worked with two sisters who had another sister who was diagnosed with triple positive cancer when her daughter was 14 months old. Her doctor told her to get her affairs in order. She is still alive today and her daughter (the little 14 month old) is now in college. There are no guarantees but longevity is possible. Gentle hugs to you both.
