Hello!

I'm a 28 year old Brazilian girl recently diagnosed with an Invasive Papillary Breast Carcinoma. I am aware how rare this type is, specially for younger woman. I'm looking for other people who have or had the same as me and we maybe could exchange experiences and information. Right now I'm recovering from surgery and soon starting my treatment.

Thanks,

Gabriela Poester.

Hi Gabriela- I also have invasive papillary breast cancer. I am not young like you - I am 56. I hope you are doing well . I had a bilateral mastectomy may 17 with direct over the muscle implants . Because one of my tumors was over 3 cm it was close to my skin and I did not have clear margins. So , have radiation soon. Luckily , the tumor was a mm shy of requiring chemo! Start ai inhibitor one of the theas days .

Hello! So sorry that you both find yourselves here. Also my apologies for the late response. There are very few of us here with Invasive Papillary Carcinoma. It is hoped that you are both improving after your surgeries.

Gabriela, it's disturbing to me that such young women are being diagnosed. I wish you lots of healing and better health..

SavedByGrace, Just curious, did your tumor have Oncotype or Mammaprint or similar genome testing for guidance in determining the need for any chemo? If so, what was your score, if you don't mind? My Invasive Papillary with IDC & Mucinous Carcinoma scored 8 on Oncotype.

Papillary tumors, including Invasive, can also be heterogenous and a combination of Invasive Papillary with Solid Papillary Carcinoma, for example (like mine), which tends to be nuclear sub-type Luminal B. Most Papillary tumors in labs test as Luminal A phenotype. Please ask your medical team.

Did your Invasive Papillary tumors exhibit any conventional IDC cells near or along the periphery of your Invasive Papillary tumors?

You might possibly need to get a 2nd opinions on the pathology to get these answers, because any conventional IDC cells would trump your Invasive Papillary tumors and require the same repeat clinical testing.
