biopsy scheduled

Called but the report is still in limbo and of course the person that relays pathology reports is not in, so they assured me that she would be looking into what’s going on first thing tomorrow morning. Good grief. Anyway, one more day.
-
Knew it wasn’t good when the radiologist called me back... DCIS with a small amount of IDC. Onto the surgeon now for appointments and deciding which surgeon and what course of action to take. I guess I’ll be moving on to the “just diagnosed” area now! Wish me luck ladies!
-
Sorry it's not better news. Here's a virtual hug( ☆ )
-
Sorry sorry to hear! Will keep you in my prayers 💗

Wishing you luck & keeping you in my prayers Moonrabbit59.

thanks! Couldn’t have taken the news without knowing there’s such an amazing support group here
-
Hi Moonrabbit, sorry I disappeared for a while, I wasn’t so lucky as well and was diagnosed with cancer last week Friday. I was in total shock that I didn’t ask any questions. Guess I thought it couldn’t happen to me. But on the bright side, cancel hasn’t spread to my lymph nodes so I’m happy about that. Looks like I better jump over to the “Just diagnosed” section too. I’m so scared for what’s going to happen next
-
Oh Rhiannon! I’m so sorry to hear the news but rest assured that I (and more likely we) will be here for you to scream (I believe that there’s a thread for that) ask questions and even laugh once in a while. I am glad to hear that the node came back clear. I already met with my surgeon and I go for an mri today, genetic testing tomorrow, and a physical therapy appointment to take pre surgery measurements of my arms to baseline for possible swelling. My surgeon was amazing at taking me step by step through what to expect, although of course, it all depends on the mri and genetic testing results. I googled “what to ask your surgeon” and came up with a pretty good list of questions that she covered before I could ask them. Her binder for me included a printout from this group! I say read the facts from trusted sites to become better informed. Once you’re informed, it provides a feeling of control and power (at least in my experience). If we both can handle teens and a baby at the same time, we can handle this!

hello! I am new to posting here. I found a lump in my breast last week. It did not show up on my Mammogram. Had Ultra Sound today and the radiologist said she thought it was a fibroadenoma but ordered a core needle biopsy to be sure. I am 37 and a Mom to a 4 year old and a 9 month old- I’m also still breast feeding. I looked at the US report and saw a braid 4a category. I guess I’m wondering about others who have had a similar experience...I am terrified of the biopsy. Any ideas on how it will effect breast feeding? I was told to pump that day because of the lidocaine.
-
hello I had routine mammo on may 5th it came back that they needed further testing which I knew it would cuz I have dense breast so I went for the 2nd mammo and US and when the US tech finished the US she went and got radiologist he told me they needed to do a biopsy in my left breast .The radiologist seemed like he knew it was bad .Since then I have been a mess.My biopsy is Monday the 11th and I am terrified.
-
hi kara1981 I am having a biopsy on Monday I am scared also...I did not know I could get the radiologist report ...I know when he talked to me I was in shock so can't remember hardly anything he said .When is your biopsy scheduled?
-
Hi Ladies,
I am so sorry to hear your bad news. The thought of getting a biopsy is scary but it's not that bad. It feels like a little pinch inside your breast. Wear comfortable clothes and bra. You will be sore after but they will give you ice and you can take Tylenol. You need to wait for the biopsy results, but until you get the results, try not to think about it. Praying for you...good luck
Moonrabbit and Rhiannon - so sorry to hear the bad news. You will get through this. One day at a time. We are here for you if you need anything.
Mimi

so it hurts ??? Cuz any pinch in my book is a bad pinch....
-
The anesthesia shot hurts a little and the last clip hurt a little for me. I think they take 5 samples. It's very fast. You will be fine! Good luck.
-
hi shellshell69- They told me I could get the report in about a week but I signed up for their online medical record portal and saw it in there! My biopsy is scheduled for Thursday. I go from being confident everything will be ok to the exact opposite! It’s quite the rollercoaster.
-
thank you all so much for telling me it won’t be that bad! You’d think after two babies this type of procedure would be a walk in the park but I’m a big baby with needles!
-
i hear you I have been the same way rollercoaster ...I want to get this biopsy over but at same time i so very afraid of the end results....
-
i hope its not bad it seems the older I get the bigger baby I become when it comes to pain....thank you for yooour words of encouragement....

I am so glad I found this site. I found a lump in my right breast and tried to make a regular mammogram appointment and was told to go see my doctor. She booked me for a diagnostic mammogram which I had on Monday. My doctor called yesterday and said the lump was " irregular " and " suspicious " . I am booked for a biopsy on June 12th. I have been obsessing ever since and my head is spinning from everything I have read on the Internet. This site is the first that has eased my mind somewhat. Thank you all for sharing your stories of both good and not so good outcomes. The unknown is awful but reading your stories has given me some insite into what to expect and that the outcome can be good. Thank you all for sharing!
-
Hi Shellshell69, I discovered 3 lumps in my right breast at the beginning of May. Had my diagnostic mammogram and u/s last Friday, 2 spots to be biopsied on this Friday. I am hoping for good outcomes for both of us!
-
hello ..well it looks like we are at the same spot ...the worse thing you can do is Google anything on the topic that's the first thing I learned from this site and I learned its true too haha..what type of biopsy did they tell you they were going to do! Mine is a core needle with the guidance of ultrasound...
-
I've had both US guided and MRI guided biopsies. The freezing pinches but goes away very quickly. The biopsy itself was much bigger in my head than what I actually felt. I was convinced an evil scientist type would come at me with a black and decker! I was dead wrong. Fear not, you've probably had much worse dental appointments. Afterwards it’s sore for a few days but generally quite do-able. The biggest thing for me was the exhaustion from worry/waiting/fear...that was the most pain I suffered through biopsy. Breath easy, I'm crossing my fingers for all!
-
yes Dr Google is not our friend right now....I am having u/s guided core needle vacuum assisted biopsies. A little nervous about the procedure, but know it is a necessary evil at this point. I have a 4 business day wait for results which is going to be very hard. My breast center has an online portal, but my husband says I can't start checking until at least Tuesday...lol...he knows me too well....
-
yes my hubby was upset that I was getting the report from the US and mammogram he seems to think that I am worried for no reason .He was not there when these procedures were done and he did not see the look on the techs face when she went and got the new radiologist or hear the tone in his voice when he told me there is a chance that it is not cancer he said in a way that it was obvious he thought it was but he might be wrong....ugggg....will someone please wake me up from this bad dream!!
-
Ladies,
Majority of the biopsies come back b9. Take a deep breath and stop thinking about it. I had my biopsy done the day after I was told I need it b/c I had to scramble and find a remote clinic that would take me ASAP. I was going on spring break with my son the week after and I had to get it done. So I didn't have time to Google anything. In fact, I got the info wrong and didn't wear a bra when you are supposed to wear a bra to stabilize your breast with ice after. Also bring Tylenol and take it right after. It is a very simple procedure. Nothing to worry about. Please believe me when I say most biopsies come back B9. I am 54 and many of my friends have done it and they were B9. I was the unlucky one. Good luck, and remember, stress causes BC!

Rhiannon and Moonrabbit, sorry for your bad news. I will keep you both in my prayers. Hugs. Glad you have this site and each other.
-
until I find out that it is b9 I will worry I cannot help it I hope you are rite .I don't Google anything any more because I do know that is asking for worry.I am so sorry that you were the unlucky one out of all your friends.I guess I am trying to prepare myself for the worse...
-
I will be praying for you all. Good luck
-
Thank you so much

Thanks kimi89! I haven’t been on the site in a while because I just wanted to clear my head. I am heading to a double mastectomy this coming Friday. A little nervous, but I am just finally ready to be done with all of this waiting. The DCIS area was just too large to be a lumpectomy. And, I got a second opinion at a different hospital and they found something in my left that the first radiologist missed, so a double it is. To all of you ladies who are worried or concerned: just breathe. Remember that we are lucky to live in a time where we have these tests and, of course, exercise your right to a second opinion and a second review!!!!!!!!!!!
