Hi all! Just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome! Counting the days until the biopsy is driving me mental! I’m no stranger to this type of stuff in a way as this will be my 3rd surgery. I’ve had a couple B9 lumps in right breast that were removed some years back, I guess due to location and swollen lymph node this time it worries me. Glad to have comfort and support here. And I agree about the whole Googling thing lol it makes the wait so much more agonizing. I’m gonna lay off that and keep myself busy instead!

Appointment tomorrow at 9:00 am to get results of biopsy. Feeling strangely calm tonight. Jeri64 any news on yours yet? I’ve been thinking of you.

MaryB66 , hang in there. The waiting is so hard!

This site is so wonderful for support. Even if just to read what others are going through to know you’re not alone in this! Hugs!

Kimi89 and jeri64, thinking of you both! Will be checking often to see if you’ve posted results. I still have a week to go until the biopsy. I didn’t mention another thing going on yet because I’m not sure if the two are related or if It’s coincidental: last September I found a very hard lump on the back upper neck behind and below my ear, right side. I had an US done and it was found to be a benign reactive lymph node, which has remained permanently hard. But in the meantime, since January, my right side lymph nodes in my neck have been swelling and my voice has been getting continuously hoarse. I went to an ent (this is about two weeks before my first mammogram this year) and they diagnosed me with silent reflux. However, I can’t help but wondering, since my issue is with my right breast, if this is all connected. Am I dealing with something that has progressed beyond just my breast? I don’t know. I still know that it’s wait and see. This is going to be a very long week. I didn’t mention the swollen lymph nodes to my radiologist because I just didn’t think of it as a connected issue but now I’m wondering if I should have. Should I send her an email now just as an FYI or wait until the biopsy? Thoughts?

Hi Kimi89, I tried to post last night, but my IPAD wasn't working right! Anyway, I received my results yesterday. Flat epithelial atypia which I was told is not cancer. It was recommended that I see my breast surgeon, so I have an appt. tomorrow at noon. (he had a cancellation) I am very relieved! I'll post more tomorrow after my appt. I think I still may need surgery to remove any more of the abnormal cells that are present. I'm praying for your results to be good. Please let me know how everything goes. Your support (and everyone else's on this site) has been so helpful to me. You're all so awesome! Hugs & prayers. I'll be thinking about you.

Aww..thank you Moonrabbit59! Are you keeping busy? I know how hard it is waiting for the biopsy. Do things you like to do & post here anytime! I see your question about the swollen lymph nodes & I think you should def mention it at your biopsy appt. Know that the biopsy isn't bad at all. I didn't feel a thing. I'm thinking about you and hoping the next week goes fast! Stay busy!!

Hi everyone, went to see my breast surgeon yesterday & because of my history (DCIS), he wants to do an excisional biopsy on May 11. He wants to be sure there's no cancer "hiding" in and around the area of the abnormal cells. He seemed pretty confident that all will be well. More precautionary I think. Still feeling positive. I'm a little nervous about surgery, but I think that's normal. Still thinking about all of you and sending positive vibes your way! So much help to be able to reach out to everyone!

Jeri64, it sounds like a good breast surgeon and I’ll be thinking about you on May 11. Is the recovery from an excisional biopsy take significantly longer than that of a stereotactic one?

I’m hoping that the OP had received good news and that is why she is no longer responding to the discussion.

I have my biopsy still way ahead. Rhiannon, I will be thinking of you on Monday!

Moonrabbit59, you don't have too much longer to go! Stay busy! I think the recovery from an excisional biopsy is like recovering from a lumpectomy, which I've had before. Wasn't a bad recovery at all. My breast surgeon is amazing! I totally trust him. You know I'll be thinking about you next week & waiting to hear good results. Post here anytime you need to talk. It really helps.

hi Djmammo, I would greatly appreciate your input! 3 Yrs ago I had breast implant surgery. Few months later I felt a lump in my left breast and my surgeon sent me for an ultrasound, which reported nothing to worry about. Fast forward to 3 yrs later, about 5 months ago I kept waking up with burning pain in the middle of the night, this pain came and went randomly and unpredictably. The same lump still being there, I went to a new dr, who sent me for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. During the ultrasound the radiologist told me that I need a needle core biopsy because the mass was irregular-shaped with spiculated margins. I had the biopsy on Wednesday and still waiting on results. I can't help but wonder if the breast implant surgery could have caused this lesion that may be mimicking cancer

-Mammogram report says: Irregular-shaped, significant decreased density, spiculated parenchymal density measuring 1.8x1.4x1.6cm at left 2 o'clock, no associated clustered calcification, spiculated margins

-Ultrasound report says irregular-shaped hypoechoic mass

    Thank you!

So I just got back. Didn’t start off so well. I wasn’t yet numb when they took the first punch through the skin. It hurt. A lot. After that I think the radiologist felt so awful that he numbed me up real good. The reassuring thing is that he said that he really didn’t think it looked highly suspicious. I don’t think he would comment at all if he felt otherwise. So now I sit and wait for results.

Moon - oh the waiting stinks! You had the biopsy last Wednesday, I don't think it would be out of line to call and enquire about results today. Hang in there and let us know your results once they are in.
