Greetings from Joshua Tree National Monument from Lita and Lou
-
Forgot to mention those are Cholla cacti in the background.
-
Huge saguaro cactus in front of the rental house we stayed at...very impressive.
-
OH LITA!! How beautiful, looks like Lou is enjoying the outing.
-
You look great Lita! Love your hat! Enjoy your get away!
-
Oh, Lita, so nice to see you standing in one of my favorite places on earth. I went to grad school at UCSB and we used to drive to JTree to go climbing- twenty years ago! Enjoy the desert's healing powers.
-
Lita~you go girl! I am loving that scenery, thank you for sharing your strength. I have to say, I am quite impressed by the way you are. I read your struggles and no matter what, there you are letting Nothing keep you down, you put me to shame. I am in awe of the woman you are. You look wonderful. We adore you. Hugs and love ~M~
-
Thank you Lita for taking us on all your journeys-the fun ones and the not so fun ones
-
Lita, you look so beautiful in your hat. When I look at you, I can’t get my head around what you are dealing with.
I will die of heart failure from chemo. So much easier than what you are dealing with. I should be on the transplant list. Thanks to cancer, I’m not eligible. They want me to get an LVAD. I told them to shove it up their asses.
Cancer sucks
-
Lita, that smile! Who can see any prickly cactus when we are blinded by your lovely smile. My goal to be like you
-
Your smile just brightened my day. Thanks for sharing that beautiful blue sky and the desert. Take care.
-
Great pic Lita! Hope your enjoying the scenery. DH lived there when we dated before we moved to Texas. I love the drive up hwy 62 from I-10 and boy do I miss mountains.
Enjoy!
-
Dearest Lita, I have stepped on the same soil as you in Joshua. I'm so glad you went. It's such a wonderful place. Take good care and keep on travellin'

Hope you enjoyed your travels! Take care, Lita, and keep on keepin’ on.

Lita- So good to see you out and about and enjoying life. Those cacti are amazing to see! So glad you felt well enough to enjoy the trip :
-
Hi Lita! I'm heading out to Joshua Tree next week. I'll be thinking of you! And may try to recreate your photo lol.
-
So happy that Sofia did well at the boarding facility while we were gone. The staff loved her and sent us daily pics.
-
who wouldn't love that face??? !!! Glad you're back safely and Sofia is doing well!! I want to hug her myself ! Hugs ~M~ Hope you're doing well. Good to see you.
-
Sweet bully baby. Love her
-
oh sweet Sofia. I bet she missed you andwas happy to have you back.
-
Lita - when I grow up I want to be just like you, we know all your trials and still you seem to go prancing along with not a care. I am a plodder. I will practice doing otherwise.
-
Lita, so great to see your lovely face and that smile! Glad you enjoyed the desert - don't those cacti look just like prickly teddy bears?
-
Lita, you are still completely beautiful. Your dog is cute, too.
-
Lita,
What a joy to see you at Joshua Tree, a magical place I discovered years ago and long to revisit.
Spring is doing its thing here in the DC area. The daffodils are blooming. So is our little cherry tree. We lost four fir trees in a wind storm a few weeks ago. Had to spend $$$$ to take them down.
Happy that you're bopping around your beautiful state,
Tina

There's still a saline bag shortage thanks to the hurricanes, ladies. So when you have your weekly chemo infusions, you won't get a saline drip acompanying your tx. All they can do is flush the line at the beginning and the end.
Gemzar stings going in, but fortunately mine is only a 30 min drip. Vein is sore for hrs afterwards tho. Be sure to really hydrate after for a couple of days to flush the toxic chemo.
Not having the saline means you'll be in for tougher se's: diarrhea, upset stomach, dizziness, etc. Eat light accordingly and have Imodium on hand.
This is where I'm at tonight. Actually didn't think they'd do the infusion today because my platelets were still a little low, but all the other #'s were fine and MO said I already had to miss last week and she didn't want me to miss another week.
Next PET is due in April, so we'll see where I'm at then. Not too worried about it. It will be what it will be. After brain mets progression, i didn't expect to be here past Christmas, so I'm very grateful for the time I've had.
Planning a trip to Yosemite in June. That's 3 mos from now. Hope I'm still here, but it's getting harder to walk, getting dizzier because of brain mets, and as of a couple of weeks ago, my brain locks up sometimes when I try to talk. Very disconcerting. It's the natural progression of the disease.
I remain in God's hands, and I'm upping the CBD'S.

I love that you are planning a trip to Yosemite. One of the few western parks I haven’t seen so I look forward to your photos. Sorry this saline shortage means more side effects for you and so many others. Time to call some members of Congress and raise the roof. I wonder if that would help. I’ll give it a try.
Take care Lita. Sending love and hugs. Mair
-
Lita, the chemo nurses at my infusion center use the saline from the flush syringes to add saline to the saline bags sometimes. You might check to see if they can do this for you.

Lita, I had saline bag flushes yesterday at treatment. Nurse mentioned she guessed the shortage was over
