Short term memory loss?

Hi all. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer the Thursday before Christmas. It’s in her breast, her lymph nodes, her hip, back, and unfortunately the brain. She’s doing hormonal therapy and she just finished radiation to the brain last week. She’s been doing so so well with everything. Super positive. But then, Thursday things got different. Her short term memory is very bad right now. We took her in and her doctor said it’s possibly a side effect from the radiation but it could also be the cancer. I was just wondering if anyone else had this happen and could offer advice for both her and the family?

It seems to get worse as the day goes on. Her new thing is repeating the things she hears on the tv. She keeps asking if we are going to the doctor. All her vitals are great though so I’m trying to be positive

Saextro, I don't have any experience with this but I would suggest you look at the Brain Mets thread. Most of those ladies have had radiation to the brain and can tell you more about the side-effects.

Radiation has effects that last a long time.
