    I am thinking of getting my liver mets tested. I have only heard of Foundation One providing genomic testing.

    What other providers are offering these tests? Do you guys have any favorites? I am hoping insurance will cover the cost, but if not, what sort of price range have you guys encountered?

    I have heard of some samples not being appropriate for testing. What should I be on the look out for?

    The two big tests (NCI trials require one of these to confirm mutations for their trials) are Foundation One and Caris. I had an F1 report done in 2016. This past summer, I had planned to have a Caris report done (to get into an NCI trial - I needed a more recent report) but my biopsy sample was botched by the pathologist. Hence, I wasn't able to get the Caris report. However, I did hear that Caris provides a bit more data than F1 although both are great tests.

    I had mine done at F1. It's mind boggling to read. I still have so many questions. I started a thread, too. Genomics Alterations Testing. I didn't realize you had to have one for clinical trials. They were able to use my BX tissue from December, 2016. Evidently, my MO doesn't think we need to use their advice, yet. It seems to me that my report said letrozole is not working anymore and to change to faslodex. But, she didn't mention any of this to me. Maybe because my PET was sort of stable. Only one tumor was had increased uptake. All the others had stayed the same. The radiologist was wishy washy and didn't use the word stable or progression in his report. He just straddled the lines repeatedly in his report. Yes, I'm frustrated. My MO only used the word stable in my office visit. I had not read the reports yet. When I did read them, I realized the discrepancy.
