Woot woot !!! Gigibee is coming to finish line! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ Ring the Bell ๐Ÿ›Ž...... and do the dance ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป

I didnโ€™t need to turn my head, I asked RO, he said could be skin around that area is thinner. Yes rads was hitting my lymph nodes. RO said my boob should not be raw and burn and Iโ€™m praying he is right.

Amy few days from now, we will be good.

I have few questions, how many of us have raw skin after radiation? It seems to me raw, burned skin show up after radiation is over. After they show up, how long would it last?

I know the next couple weeks would be tough, Iโ€™m just wondering how tough would it be.

About how long things were raw -- I had rawness for about three weeks after the last rads session. Now, 5 weeks later, I have tan spots, but everything feels so much more normal, No pain and skin is silky smooth. I am still putting cream on it. How long am I supposed to keep doing that?

As far as how far up things got red, I had lymph involvement, so they were radiating along my collarbone. I found that I got red even on my neck and across the midline a little bit on the other side of my chest near my other collarbone. My RO had no real good explanation. My skin was pretty sensitive, and I just figured it was just sympathetically red. It never got raw or anything, just a little irritated. Since your skin is an organism in its totality, it can kind of react as a unit.

thanks Rhyfelwr, I actually donโ€™t have very sensitive skin, chest skin holding up its on Ly collarbone and above got pretty burned and small area is breaking up last night . This morning is getting better, felt some burning when I put cream on it and during shower. I do think it will get better in few days since treatment has stop. When I go out I put a pad on top, but I let it air when Iโ€™m home.

Hey, weโ€™ve been through chemo, little skin breaks wonโ€™t take us down. Here is a picture of my current burns.

Well I did it, I finished ! My techs gave me a certificate of completion . My husband surprised me by being there and my girls were with me. I did pretty well and only lost it after ringing the bell and posing for a couple pics. It will seem strange not to have to go there anymore .

You really peeling Lifechoices, I havenโ€™t started peeling yet, Iโ€™m still on the burning stage.

Iโ€™m fine with the burn, I actually put a tissue on top so it gets air and should heal in few days. Appetite has been better now so I donโ€™t want to gain more weight.

PauletteK my thoughts; the cancer is gone...this is just God making me whole and restoring me back to His perfection! It doesnt hurt at all... my arm is really good. That little scar on the top right pic; towards the bottom is my nodes incision... that too is really good and has smoothed out that i barely feel it...But God!

Im just thinking that once my boob completely sheds and flakes away itll be as smooth as a babies bottom:)...lol

Gigibee! The bell is the sound of victory! YES, I love that. Congrats to you.

I feel less anxious now seeing that I'm not the only one with darkened skin on my neck.

Paulette, hang in there. My skin is getting better.

gigibee- so happy for you, you did it! That sign at the bell is perfect.

Tomorrow I'll be a week out since last rads. I get boob pain, and the skin on upper chest that has seen lots of sun, it has a few tiny scabs on it and itches! I just keep putting on lotions about 4x a day. Underarm at the gym can feel bad, but I'll adjust an exercise so its not rubbing on itself. We will get through this warriors!

PauletteK- keep on keeping on the lotions.

Life choices- your skin looks good!

PVM - looks sore. Keep up the lotions, you're almost fully healed. Hugs!

PVM, it looks pretty bad and you finished before Amy and I. Hey Amy when you said you got red reached to half of your neck, I knew we have the same problem. Thatโ€™s one of the reason I lost some of my appetite also. Now rads stopped my appetite is back.

I donโ€™t think the burns will last for couple weeks, skin heal up fast the ones on my collarbone took 4-5 days then it calm down. So by the weekend this little opening will heal. Just pray to God this will be the last one,

Hey, Iโ€™m not complaining, just want to share how bad rads can burn skins.

Thanks for sharing your pic Paulette, it is similar to what my neck and collar bone look like, just not as red.

Lifechoices, you are so pretty, inside and out

    PVM, yikes, does that hurt?

Amy it does not hurt all the time only when my shirt or bralette brush against it. I did a saline soak the other day as my RO suggested i do that & THAT hurt so i decided to just keep on putting cream on it & letting it heal. My other areas are peeling but don't hurt, its like i have a tan & im peeling. I think & hope this is the worst it will get.

Hi Ladies, good to see a lot of you have finished or are close to finishing rads. You all will always be in my good thoughts.

We are in sunny Mexico and I'm 4 weeks out from finishing rads. My skin was doing very well and now it seems the rash is coming back? Any ideas about this? Also my lump where the lumpectomy was is red under the skin and a little warm to the touch. Thought I'd ask you knowledgeable gals before I call my doctor in the USA. Thanks for any insight you have.

Everything else is well; my cording issue was resolved and the seroma where the lymph node was removed is gone. My scars are very hard and bumpy so I'm massaging these. My range of motion is good and I'm starting to play a little pickleball again. It sure is nice recovery in the sun and warmth rather than the cold.

Redheadhereare you getting any sun on the area there? Just a thought that it would be extra sensitive ?

Readhead i was going to say the same thing that gigibee said. Is that area where you had rads out in the sun & are you putting sunblock on it. It could be a mixture of the heat as well as that its sensitive. Hope it gets better - sending positive vibes your way.

Protecting it from sun ALWAYS, not just sunscreen but clothing. Would sweating and wearing a sports bra (since I normally go bra-less) cause this you think?

    Thank you for your insight.
