Has this been a very cruddy winter so far?

I've been having a rough time. Gone two months, my mom died (without family telling me, long story), I've had ulcerative colitis and a retinal tear/surgery/wonky vision. Also, due to progression, my hips hurt too much for comfortable mobility. Started using the cane today. DS went back to college, which is good, but I do miss him.

Since I'm running out of treatments, we are going to squeeze the last bits of juice out of Doxil. I guess I'm looking at some radiation, though I've just had some three months ago.

We lost Kandy. Others too, I am sure.

See what I mean? Spring, get your fanny here!

How is everybody else doing? I hope that others are having a much better time. I'm too chicken to look at posts from other winters too see if this is normal for the season. Tangent: It is hard to look at old posts sometimes, because of the fallen. I'm not a huge fan of opening up old threads for that reason.

What do you guys do to stay useful? I feel such a burden to the DH. He works all day, then comes home to be a body servant to me. The house is a mess, because staying fed and clean takes most of my energy.

Whine concluded. Probably. I'm off to see what I can do about the massive collection of dog deposits on the patio while there's still a bit of thaw going. The critters have borne my disability bravely. Cat puts up with a sub-standard box, and dog goes without walks and still maintains her composure. I am very lucky in my family and pets.
