Lobular Tumours larger than 6cm?

Although mine was on the smaller side (still traveled into nodes, though ;( ), I think a lot of ILC (because of the way it grows and hides from scans) tumors are often larger than those for IDC before they are detected. I'll bet that you'll get more responses, but also remember that a lot of us have moved on (post bc) and there may be lots of ILCrs that could answer your question but simply aren't on these discussion boards any longer.

Don't jump to conclusions. You really don't know anything for sure yet, right? No matter how big our tumors were and what stage we were, all of us felt the same way when we first found out we had BC. It really sucks and it turns your world upside down, that's for sure. All I did was cry and shake. My primary doc finally prescribed Zoloft so that I could function. I ended up having a BMX and was fortunate that it was caught so early and was Stage 1A with no lymph nodes involved. But you know what? Cancer is cancer. We are all in this together.

mine was 7 cm. After lumpectomy a small margin of cancer was left. Plus 4/5 nodes positive a sample. So now on the 23 I have to go back in more surgery. I’ve decided on masectomy and they will remove pad of nodes. I’m so nervous. Today they did ct chest abdomen and pelvis it was clear 6 months ago when I was diagnosed just finished 6 months of chemo. I’m terrified it may of spread in that short time

Mine was 10 cm but with lobular, it was three smaller tumors connected by stuff in between, so they count the whole thing which is unlike IDC which is usually one mass.  My nodes were clean and margins clear but some lymph vascular invasion.  Looking at treatment now as one onc said ACT and the other is doing onco test as she is looking at it more closely.  Some research says that lobular doesn't react to chemo but better to anti hormonal therapy, but if they say chemo, that's what I'll do.  

i have/had a 7.3 cm tumor. Having chemo first so I won't know node status till surgery (yay should be about 2 months from now

I had an mri just before Christmas, shortly after I moved from dd ac to weekly taxol and herceptin perjeta and taxol every 3 weeks. The tumor has shrunk so much it's no longer visible on mri. So yes Ilc can react to chemo! Mine hates it and went away . At first they didn't think it was which scared me. But I was so happy about the mri results!

I don't know node status yet. But whatever was growing in there, I hope willbe dead by the time I have surgery! Then just to be safe I'm having radiation of chest wall, arm pits and neck.

I didn't think I could do this when I started. But I am hanging in there!Tomorrow will be treatment #13 out of 16 total Chemo infusions (counting ac).

Mine was described as similar to Jaydub9425. 3 lesions — a total of 7+ cm — but not a solid mass of ILC. I had 4 rounds of chemo prior to double mastectomy. Surgery in late December. Stage IIIA — 7 of 12 nodes were positive (NOT the result I was hoping for), but the margins are clear. Now I have 4 more rounds of chemo and then 7 weeks of radiation. Finding out about cancer in the nodes was hard. So is dealing with post surgery swelling and trying to prevent or mitigate lymphedema. Just feels like A LOT. But, I like hugz4u's attitude! Gonna put on my big girl pants and get busy!

Hi. My lobular tumour measured about 10cm on the MRI. My medical team all said the likelihood of having no lymph node involvement was very low. I had chemo first, but there was not a trace of cancer left when I had surgery.

Mine was 9cm Stage 2. The mammogram and ultrasound missed it for years. Thank goodness it was a slow grower. My gynecologist is the one who caught it. When I asked why I felt a mass they told me it was dense tissue. I have been very fortunate, no chemo, and I just had my mastectomy Jan.16, 2018 and only one node removed and it was clear. I do however have to do some radiation in the coming weeks.

i maybe able to uplift uou here. My friends is 12cm and zero nodes affected, she had an oncotype and it came back as 8, so no chemo

My ILC tumor was reported to be 11cm. June 2018 will be 4 years NED for me.
