PauletteK, no chemo. I stopped taking bcp Sept 30 I had a cycle Oct 5th and Nov 4th. I didnt have one Dec or Jan. I didnt start tamox until Jan 1.

Ellyn27, glad to hear that you are now comforted. I think we actually hear 100% of things that CAN go wrong; but certainly that's not what actually happens. On one of the post before someone posted that they just 'stopped' reading up on some stuff because they became more anxious about the negatives. Cindy ... what a good feeling! Chemo sucks I can tell you that. You can ask Amy or read our August chemo thread, so much crying and pains we went through, it was unreal. No poison in your body is a good deal.

Ready for more zapping? Not really, I can feel my breast really swelled and looks burned. 9 more to go, 4 whole breast and 5 boosts. I’m hoping boosts will be less burn.

Lifechoices did you remove any nodes? I noticed my armpit and back were numb after surgery however when I was doing PT, one day my Pat massaged my back of the armpit she told me I have a lot of knots there and I noticed I got some of the sensation back after she massaged. I don’t know is that what you meant.

I've got 7 more rads, then MO will prescribe an AI. Unkown what one, but everything I've read about them, they all have SE's. MO said she'll be monitoring me close, so I'll go with the flow.

When my RO nurse asked about pain I told her periodic fast zap of pain now & then in the breast/underarm area, and gone before you know it. She said it's most likely healing from the breast surgery. LifeChoices- Maybe that's your twinges.

CindyNY--Yeah for you!! My original treatment was just radiation, but then that score of 44! So new ballgame. Sometimes, I'm doubtful I made the right choice, but nothing but God helped me make me through. Glad you didn't have to experience.

Indigo 29 - Thanks for the tip on the Silver sulfadiazine cream That stuff is amazing. Used it when I burned my face and I have no scar.

Lifechoices2017- Glad you're getting back into the swing of working. My co-worker kept pushing me to go on FMLA, but.I resisted. I worked when I could, even if it was just for a few hours and found that it kept me from falling into a deeper depression than I was in. I was blessed that my son works in the building next to mine so he drove and took care of me. I also have wonderful coworkers that didn't let me do to much.

I met with my RO today and she also said those twinges were the nerves. 4/33 completed and she said skin looks good and keep doing what I'm doing. What I'm doing is the midterm 3x's a day and I purchased the aquaphor to use at night like you all suggested. A little extra never hurts. Lol.

PauletteK and Gigibee - glad to hear that you are almost at the end of you radiation treatment - one more hurdle soon to be overcome and out of the way. I had 5 boosts at the end too. I asked my radiation technician what the boosts were for and she told me that boosts just target the area where the tumor and surgical incision was and are much quicker and less harsher on the skin then the other radiation treatments.

Neanie44 - I agree; it's a great cream. I only needed to use a little bit for it to be effective. My skin healed beautifully.

CindyNY and Lifechoices I also got the twinging pain and my radiologist said that the twinges were probably from the tissue healing.

Even though I've finished radiation, I still apply aquaphor cream in the morning and before bedtime on the whole radiated area as my skin there gets dry very quickly.

HILARIOUS.... Dan, no Brian! I too had a guy tech; T.K. .. he was the best. Everyday he'd be like, your name, b-day and is this your picture. Id give my name, bday and say yep that's me. One day my pic didn't show prior to my getting on the table. He was like, you didnt verify your pic, i was like but you know my boobs by now...he and the other 2 lady techs all started laughing.

Good afternoon ladies; thanks for the follow up info on t he twinges. I too figured that it was just my inside healing but because they had stopped and started back while on tamox; i guess again that too is reconnecting everything that needs to be.

Ive been on tamox 9 days now (10 tonight when I take it at 6pm) and so far other than the twinges, I feel no SEs. Ive continued to take my vitamins as my MO approved and because they say tamox can cause 'slight' achy joints, im going to start back walking (when the weather breaks) but in the meantime, will do my stationery bike a 2-3 times a week just to keep motion.

Neanie, I worked in HR for 12yrs before I was in the position that I am now at my school so I knew the paper trail. Not knowing what was to come when diagnosed, I was like, let me do it to be on the safe side. Well because I worked everyday but 4 of my time; I probably could have done the same as you. When I look at my total days that I could have been out, an now looking at the the actual time... I would have been out a TOTAL of 55 days; but because I did limited hours, but worked everyday, I truly ONLY missed 20 days of work. That in itself is a blessing as I was able to work; drive myself to every appt and still be able to do my church work (Pastors admin and I direct 2 choirs; sing on 3). My life is busy but I was able to keep as much normal as normal could be. Im the admin for the principal at my school; with a total staff of 15 ppl; and only 5 of them knew but you are correct, they were VERY supportive and restrictive of the things they allowed me to do.

PauletteK and gigibee I hope that your skin continues to 'hold up' as you continue your zaps!... and the same for all others on this post.

P.S... as im typing this, just got a hot flash... YES the tamox is working! lol

gigibee; thanks and yeah its going well. I do have i guess you'd say discomfort just under my breast where the bra rubs. I made it a point to purchase 'cotton' prior to all of this and no underwire. Honestly I think my 'boob' is just bigger (lol) and the before fit is not same as the 'after' swelling fit. But no skin irritations or anything (thank God)!

I actually think i took a nap on the rads table one day. Its like I was counting and all of a sudden I jumped up when I heard the buzzing... lol. I must have been counting sheep!

But WAY TO GO 20/30... almost at that finish line!

At my breast MRI I requested Tom Petty. I heard "don't come around here no more" and thought YOU got that right - cancer don't cone around here no more!
