Dear Lita. Hang in there. Why is it always 1 am when you are asleep. MBC. The gift that keeps on giving. That’s one of the things I fear...losing control. My bladder is shot already but you just pick yourself up and grab a chux and Imodium and make it sound like “no big deal”. You are one tough cookie. Sending prayers your way.

It doesn't help that thanks to mets, I can no longer do Kegels or even FEEL my hoo hah. Everything is numb down there. I also have no control over my sphincter muscles anymore. They makes things worse when these accidents are imminent, but I just have to deal with it.
The Imodium has helped, but I'm still going to eat the BRAT diet today just to be on the safe side.
We're going to see the Star Wars movie on Saturday....sadly, no popcorn for me. That would REALLY do a number on my digestive system with things being what they are these days. Too bad again, because popcorn is one of the few things that doesn't taste metallic to me. The Taxol has really thrown my taste buds off. Even my favorite cereals taste (Life, Grape Nuts Flakes, etc.) weird to me. Sweets and chocolates are the worst....so I won't even be able to buy a little bag of M & M's at the theater. I guess I'll bring apple slices or a banana to snack on - what fun!

Lita, when the Force Awakens came out, I was dealing with poop issues similar to yours. Like you, I was wearing adult diapers myself. I was unwilling to give up popcorn so I did have a small one. I did however load up on immodium before, probably 2 to 3 tablets before and another two after the movie. It completely blocked me up for a couple of days but was so worth to have that popcorn. I can't eat anything with peanuts anymore either. I think chemo ruins our GI permanently even with probiotics. I can eat most things but not chocolate or peanuts. I really miss those myself. Enjoy the movie Saturday even if you bring apples!
-
Mara, normally I'd just throw caution to the wind and EAT the damn popcorn, but I'm going out of town on Sunday, and I don't want any "episodes" while I'm traveling on the road. Of course, I might "cheat" on Saturday and eat two or three pieces of my husband's popcorn, but that's about it. Eating even a small container might be pushing it, and if I have any issues on Sunday, I'll have no one to blame but myself.

Can't blame you there if you have other plans Sunday involving car travel. Enjoy the show at any rate. Hear it's a good movie.

Lita: have you tried Lomitil! It has really helped me these last 3 years in Herceptin! It is prescription. I take two before leaving he house and another 2 if I eat in public. Rarely...it does too good if a job and I need Per Diem.

I must have missed the post with mri results - smaller Mets? Yay!!
May the force continue to be with you lita, and safe travels this weekend!!

Good news on the smaller Mets, Lita!
Hope you have a fun "event free" weekend

Lita- good news and poo-news! So sorry you have to go through that! Enjoy your movie night! Sending love and light!
-
Lita so sorry for your recent bout. I recently went from pooping in my pants to trying to push out rocks. Can’t we just get a happy medium!
Hope it’s under control now

Heading off to Half Moon Bay for a few days with a friend.
Prayers for safe travel and no digestive "incidents."
Thanks to my numerous tumors and spreading numbness, I no longer have full control of my bladder OR my anal sphincter, and have already had accidents this past week, as I chronicled earlier. I have to wear Depends ALL THE TIME now. I'm bringing a full package with me, so I should hopefully be okay.
It really sucks, but THIS IS MY LIFE NOW. ((But at least I can still walk with my walker and talk in semi-coherent sentences...that could change any day, but let's be grateful for the faculties we still possess.))
The Last Jedi was pretty good, and I think I only dozed off once, for a minute or two, so I didn't lose the forward momentum of the plot. Won't say anymore, but I liked the character development. Plenty of latitude for more sequels in the future.
I may only check in once or twice while I'm away, so blessings to everyone.

Lita: I too read every day but don't post often. Always sending positive thoughts. I was raised on the SF Peninsula and Half Moon Bay is one of my favorite places. Hope you have a great time. Somehow watching the Pacific Ocean always calms me.

Have a great time Lita!!

Taken outside Nick's Restaurant in Pacifica, just north of Half Moon Bay. NICK's is an institution...been there since the 20s. Great crab sandwhiches and seafood. I had fish and chips.
