Great news Babs! So happy for you. Enjoying life with better stability and fewer side effects sounds wonderful :

Hubby- PI3K mutations are the most common way cancers grow around estrogen deprivation. If you can block that pathway, then the cells can go back to being estrogen-dependent again. But, it's been hard to get a good drug in this space. I've read that it may be best to use this drug secondline or later, to increase the fraction of cancer cells that carry the mutation. Am following Babs with interest, and so glad it seems to be working!

I’m so happy for you! I had to go off of it, it raised my glucose too high too fast. I was only able to get 5 doses in. Plus it caused many other side effects for me. I’m done doing clinical trials for a bit. My oncologist said my body needs a rest.

I had severe fatigue, ringing in my ears, my sodium levels dropped way too low, my potassium also dropped, I felt awful, it took over a week to start to feel normal again.

I also have the normal fatigue from chemo and working full time. I work in a school with special needs children. The fatigue I had with the GDC was extreme, I literally had to keep laying down every half hour or so or I’d feel like I was going to pass out. I would actually get cold, clammy and dizzy.

thanks, I’m feeling better, it took over a week though, and that was only one dose. I am glad it’s working for you though! Definitely keep us posted!
