So awful to hear about Lita's progression. Thanks Teka.
Jwoo, glad to hear your relatives are safe, but sorry to hear they were among the people who were affected by Harvey's wrath. That weather map Mari posted looks mad.
Patty, so good to see you popping in more often lately. Hope you are on the path to more good days than bad.
MammaRay, I like your new avatar. Wishing much more quality time with DS
Mari, ooh Zika virus can kill brain tumors??? Hope they can soonfind a way to use the virus without introducing its detrimental affects on human.
Ms. Sas, hope that storm weaken by the time it hits Florida.

Mammaray. Enjoy riding the wave and spending extra time with your ds. Sorry walking has become such an issue. Are the nurses thru hospice ?
Lovely. Too funny.

Mamaray. I thought I couldn't be on hospice and continue any tx? You said you are on xeloda ?? Love the mental picture of you and son snuggling. It's the best. My dss are 12 and 14 a.nd they will still come lay and snuggle with me. That's the stuff worth fighting for. Big hugs

Hi getting ready for the hurricaine. Still don't understand why the can't blow the thing up with the MOAB's .
Will keep you updated.
-
You are ahead of your time SAS
-
-
? What is an MOAB anyways ?
-
MOAB = mother of all bombs. I had to look it up , Mari. I think we need a FOAB to dissipate Irma. Anyway, the energy created by the bomb has to be greater the that of the hurricane, right? No clue of the numbers....just trying to sound like I know something. Ha!

I get you lover. Maybe we could just shootoff Pacmans into the sky. That's how much I know.

Feels like the world out there is self-destructing through nature and humanity. Feels like our personal worlds are too.
Got an hour of sleep just from exhaustion, like a power nap. Then awake and afraid. Though I might get all cleaned up and dressed and deliver myself to the ER but don't know which one I would go to at this point. But now I feel better. And tired again.
Safety and deep peace to all. It's a rough time right now.

Oh BlueB, wish the dark cloud doesn't stay above you too long. Yes, it would be nice if there is no more sickness, disaster, or suffering. I read your recent post on the other forum to get a better picture of what you are going through. Boy! With the list of specialists you have, somebody got to figure out how to make you all better. Interesting question you brought up about AI's possibly worsen the PAH. I would think the scleroderma and the radiation are more of the guilty culprits??
This is a link to the list of drugs that can induce PAH:

Here are two articles that might be of interest to you:

Best wishes. Hope the symptoms improve and that the scan is negative for progression. Big hugs.

Wow, I just figured out it's still Thursday..

hahaha - yes, still, Marijen. Tomorrow it WILL be Friday.

LoverofLife - that metformin is a wonder drug. I was on it due to autoimmune hypothyroid. And my oncologist upped the dose to one more pill a day for cancer. And now I read this - did not know, so thank you. Without the metformin, it could have been worse.
Metformin Reverses Development of Pulmonary Hypertension via Aromatase Inhibition.
I didn't read this but did print for later - I am surmising it means the fact that our estrogen is being blocked would aggravate PEH in the long run. So though the drugs don't do it the body is prevented from naturally protecting us. Us as in cancer patients on * targeted hormone therapy (edited there only).
Thank you for the info.
-
Loveroflife, thanks for the pulmonary/AI links. Another good reason to quit my letrozole. On the metformin I thought it was recently decided it was a bad drug

Andrew (blinking) compared to Irma (mother of all hurricanes)

Bluebird it's Friday

Best wishes to all in FL.
My DH's brother and family are in direct path as of current predictions. House was built in last decade though so very strong, steel shutters, place is as near a fortress as poss etc., they are fortunate. SIL is in police force so they can't leave as she will likely be called on to work. I hope all who have an opportunity to go somewhere safer for the duration can travel. XXX
Lover best wishes to your Dad, hope he is doing well.

Echoing what others have said love your new avatar MammaRay

On metformin - it does some things not desireable. Can mess with your kidneys so has to be watched. Detoxing and organic juicing can help that too. Also it does block some nutrition - which I do not like at all. Six of one - half dozen of the other.
The storms make people hold their breath, hoping for the safety of everyone and every thing in their path. No control at all! We just wait.
Here were have sudden storms like blizzards and tornadoes and Derechos. Not the same but still can be so deadly.
-
metformin can also do a number on your bowels. I took it for 4 years in my youth for PCOS before i couldn't take it anymore.
