    I often hear church bells in the distance when I am outside tending to laundry or taking Jackson outside. We have two churches that are not far and I am always trying to figure which the sounds of the bells is coming from.

    I have been to the British Museum and I felt that I could have spent hours there just looking at everything.

    British Museum is wonderful. I'm very partial to the Egyptian cat sculptures. I also love the Clocks & Watches exhibition. Never get tired of re-visiting it.

    Mags, talked to Phyllis, her Palliative Care group suggested the Ritalin 5 mg. Already forgot timing dose. Shucks. Damn. This is a gleaning thing. People have a response to a drug, then it spreads like wild fire. Fatigue in the Cancer group is high, fatigue in the fibro group is high. Oh well, seems to me it's time to talk, Yaya

    Sas, Mags & Junie.............. toying with the ìdea a of starting a new topic for those of us with BC and Fibro/CFS. Our symptoms can vary wildly as can our reactions to meds and treatments. Ahh... but if we can find those things we may have in common for some better QOL, how cool? Any thoughts, anyone?

    Mags ~ spoke to my insurance company's pharmacist for required "Xeloda Counciling" Best thing I learned? Timing for the darn pills! Every 12 hours is the preferred. But....... 8 to 10 hours is acceptable. Been soo stressed over the scheduling. Still striving for every 12 hours but it is hard!

    Shep, keep the discussion here. Please, we are all in the same boat with the same problems. What I tried to point out earlier is ------the negation of talking the negation of discourse caused the talk herE to devolve to the weather.

    WE ARE MORE THAN THE WEATHER, WE ARE LOVELY WOMEN THAT ARE MUYLTIDIMENSIONAL. THAT HAVE OPINIONS ON EVERYTHING AND ARE EXCITING, BITCHY, AND WONDERFUL. WE DON'T HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO EXPRESS WHAT WE BELIEVE AND HOLD DEAR. DO IT HERE. BE SO OFF THE WALL THAT WE ARE ADMIRED FOR ARE COURAGE TO BE DIFFERNET

    That and 10 cents won't get you a cup of coffee........Dad's old saying when you got on a rant :)

    To be truthful, I am not too fond of some of the super specialized threads. There are a few that have become social hangouts and have totally strayed from the original topic. A few others are nothin' but spitting contests over who has it toughest. They ignore science and proven facts.

    If someone starts a topic "All About Runny Noses - Solutions, Ideas, Suggestions" and then the following discussion is about everything but runny noses, what's the point?

    I do wish there were locked topics - like a "library"- to serve as filtered, organized sources of relevant information to the topic at hand. Easy to find, accurate information. So much gets lost as threads continue. Just think of all the housekeeping time you could save Sas! Keep the original topic discussion open but be able to refer to the "library" version of the topic.

    Most importantly, I do like all of us's. We can be so, so smart and so, so silly. I could gush on and on but ya'll know how special each of you are 💞

    Still upset with my mom over this last week so I called her yesterday to tell her that and all I got was her stinking voicemail which she never checks, so she will never get the politely worded but very unhappy message I left her. Hubby even called her yesterday but she still hadn't apologized for not saying anything to us this week for our anniversary. He knows how deep down I am hurt over it and said not to say anything to my mom and stepfather for their anniversary next month. I think I will say Happy Anniversary and make a sarcastic remark about how at least they got that when mine wasn't even acknowledged by them, followed by a quick end to the call!

    Ms. Wren, I think I will get along with your DH :) I can spend hours and hours in a museum examining and reading everything. I don't like to rush and can't really fully enjoy if someone is waiting for me. I can see myself going to the museum alone. Good for you for being productive while you waited for him. You used to work for Holland America Cruise Line? How exciting! What did you do for them? You must have met a lot of interesting people all over the world. Were these top military officials Dutch or Indo (Eurasian)? I have read that many Dutches and Indos had to leave the county after the Republic of Indonesia became an independent state. Regarding Anne Frank, can you imagine living in a small space with other strangers? You could feel a presence? Neat! I couldn't help but feel sad for her family and the Jewish people as I walk down the street she once walked. Hatred is ugly.

    Ms. Sas, QOL is so important. Wonder about the number of patients who are being prescribed Adderal or Ritalin for fatigue related to cancer treatments, Fibromyalgia, ect..

    I would love to visit Netherlands again. Didn't get a chance to explore the outskirts. People here are tall and thin. Maybe because they are more active than us Americans. A lot of people bike. The Dutch in Amsterdam are very skillful on the bike. I have seen quite a few people texting while bicycling. Here is one:

    I agree Sassy and ShepK, I've joined a lot of threads for the information within and by the time I get through 20 or 30 pages it has nothing to do with the topic.

    Praying everyone has a wonderful Sunday! I wanted to surprise my mom by picking her up and taking her to church this morning but the radar looks pretty intimidating for that time. We'd be soaked by the time we got to the car.

    Inside of the Rock Church

    Outside of the Rock Church ( Temppeliaukio Church).

    This church is carved from a huge boulder. There were at least 4 police cars outside. I am assuming for security purposes. They were good looking policemen. They all looked like they were from the swat team. Was so tempted to take a picture of them close up, but I was afraid they would throw me in jail

    If you look closely, two policemen stand against the wall watching. The first pic shows two black police jeeps park right in front of the church. Not sure why they were there at the church but not at other tourist areas in Helsinki.

    Loverly, Finns seemed really tall to me. Do you think so too, or was I just running into some really tall ones? I was on a travel agent trip that went to Moscow, flew to (then) Leningrad, and took the train to Helsinki. Things were so drab in Russia and so bright and cheerful in Helsinki. It was like going from a black/white movie to color.

    Waving hello to everyone.  Loving the pictures of your trip Lover.  I'm so ready for my vacation in July, though now I have to worry about Chance.  If everyone can send good doggie thoughts his way.  He was DX with Lar Par on Friday, and he will need surgery sooner than later.  Trying to figure out best place to take him. First estimate is 3500 ( do I really need savings when I'm older?).

    Sensi, was just thinking about you and Chance this morning when I woke up. Was going to text you to see how your boy is doing and here you are. So tough when they get old. Trying to do the compassionate thing is not always clear with emotions involved. Hugs to you and your baby.

    Ms. Wren, seems to me there are more taller people in Finland. Beautiful and friendly people. Saw some Gypsies ( I think) here too. Helsinki is quite colorful.

    Can't seem to download pics at the moment. We have arrived in St. Petersburg. Hopefully, no subway on this tour.

    thanks for thinking of Chance and I. He's on restriction for a while. Need to keep him calm and cool. I'm going to call a couple of places tomorrow and figure out where to take him for consult. As much as I hate to spend what little savings I have, I can't not do it, if he is a good candidate for surgery.

    I spent all day yesterday sleeping, I just can't figure out why I'm so tired all of a sudden. I just need enough energy to get the branches picked up from the weekend storms, mow the yard, check my garden and see what the storm has dropped in the pool. I'm tired just thinking about it!     GOOD MONDAY MORNING OWLIES Hahaha I'm bright and chipper. Rare, early am.

    Had a sleep study last night. Failed, but we will see what the treatment plan is. I so don't want to have to use CPAP. Oh well, it always sumpin.

    On the suggestion on the Library thing. I did a thread trying to consolidate old posts b/c I was reinventing the wheel to often. "Pain and Other Things". It's old stuff, Fibro stuff for Mags(complete repost from outside with credit to the author), and new stuff. I wish I had started it from the beginning. I talked Yoga Girl into doing one too.

    In things we talk about here we can place them permanently into a storage thread. What will happen though is someone will come along and chat. Which is fine. The key is to keep it from becoming a social thread.

    Sensi, don't blame you at all.

    On our way back to St Petersburg from Peterhof. We have wifi from the tour van, but mobile phone battery is low. Saw Yusupov palace plus Catherine palace. Crazy how these imperial families had extravagant lifestyles. Most of their art works were influenced by Europe, given the location of St Petersburg.

    These people must have spent a lot their time horizontal because most of their beautiful art works areon the ceiling. St Petersburg is a young city (300 years). compared to other cities in Europe.
