Not many were as memorable as that one was.

We are in day one of a potential heat wave. Hiding in the house

Loveroflife - Got your PM and just messaged back a few minutes ago. Apologies for the delay in responding, not able to answer all of your questions, though. Regarding countries surrounding the Baltic Sea - Never got that far North, unfortunately. Will you be traveling there before or after Amsterdam? If so, lucky you.

Loverly ~ Maybe dear Feline would let you spend your holiday with her? Wicklow Town would be lovely to visit..... just go back and look at some of her beautiful photos! You'd have the seashore, shops, pubs and castles to explore. And REAL tea! Bonus; no sad Anne Frank House. (God Bless and Rest her brave soul) I wouldn't be able to handle that. Such sorrow... (sniff) just awful.

Art museums, gardens, places with critters...... just go see happy stuff, okay?

I know that you and DH are well seasoned travelers. Your DDs too! I am confident you will always be aware of your surroundings and will keep a close eye on each other. You will certainly have many, many prayers following you too! Although I suspect He will be keeping a close eye on you even without our prayers asking to keep you safe, Special One 😇

(now don't scare me with any of those bug eyed monkey /lemur creatures if you see any - nothin' else yucky either..... I've been on such good behavior 🤗)

Wishing you all a wonderful happy vacation 💜

Loverly, I've been to Denmark, Finland and Russia. St. Petersburg (Leningrad) is very interesting, especially the Hermatige Museum. Denmark and Finland are lovely with friendly people.

Sassy, yeap, a possum can eat up to 5,00 ticks a year. I know we have 4 or 5 different possum show up at night so that's 20,000 to 25,000 ticks I don't have to worry about this year! You can cut off some plants and have them grow back. All my leaf lettuces I cut off and in a few days more leaves will grow back. It mak s itbeasier than replanting every time I make a salad.

M0mmy, thank you for sharing your sister with us. It sounds like you never knew what to expect from her or when. Wonderful memories 💜

My port removal went well. I'm pretty sore and the glue has started to come off after only 3 days. I had glue for 3 weeks after my port placement. I hope it holds on long enough to get some healing done. I'll call to make my follow up appointments today and let them know the glue is lifting and not flaking off as they said it would. My hubby was told no swimming for 6 weeks but I'm not sure I'll wait that long. I missed all last summe due to my DBMX and I'm not missing out on this summers swimming. You can't tell this wench what to do sometimes but I'll make sure it's healed well enough before jumping in. It's been a pretty busy weekend around here. I spent half my time getting the pool ready and the other half helping DH get the boat dock I asked for put in. I just held the posts in place while he pounded them in with the bucket on the the tractor. I'm glad he got me a pair of wadders as I'm not getting in that disgusting water without them! I'm just going to play in my garden for a little while today and take it easy afterwards. I'm beat!

Loverly, what does it say when our avatar images disappear b/c of copyright time lapse? Been here to long? Haha Now will have to remember how to do it. Well, you are off sometime today. Safe and wonderful journey. L&H&P's for the whole family.

MammaRay, hope all is still improving.

Mommie, that's okay about the stories. If you remember any more, would love to hear them

Wenchie. That's great about the ticks with possums. There is a new bacteria in 10 states transmitted by ticks. Saw it on the news feed this morning. Doom and gloom , but there is no cure, yet. Sounds like it's covering the same territory as Lyme.

Remodel:The fellas arrived this am. The tub is in place, plumbing attached and made better. They even put in shutoffs. Surrounding shelves won't be the 12 inches, but that's okay. I felt it more important for the drain to not have extra turns in it. The fella's and Donnie thought that was good. I'mm reading the owners manual. They asked me to read it so when they do the demonstration, I will have a clue. :) Bummed that the camera is broken. Oh well

Lights, light blue and dark blue, red, yellow, purple, and green.

Aromatherapy chamomile, Lavender (won't use-sensitive), rose &Ylang-Ylang & sage, peppermint and eucalyptus,

Sacrificed shelf width to make sure drain flow was maximum outgo. The fellas said each elbow decreases flow by time = to 100 ft. Oh well, less stuff on shelf. Certain features are improved from the sample used at sales visit. Nicer faucet and spigot, Control panel is much nicer and safer. It was stainless steel on the previous model. I thought it could be a danger with a fall. Nice to see it's rounded edge acrylic now.

Acrylic is white and tile is gray white. Oh well. It'll work in the end.

Rooms isn't mine, these pics are from their web site. American Standard. I looked at Kohler too. But had less features and was more money.

Layover in Texas. Boarding in 10 minutes. Thank you Ms. Wren and MT.

    Happy Anniversary Mommy!!!

MT, what is a must see if we only have seven hours in Copenhagen and five hours in Helsinki?

Ms. Wren, we purchased a 2-day tour in St Petersburg and will be seeing the Hermitage museum. Can't wait to see the city.

Avatar?? Have not had that happen to me, Ms. Sas. What illegal thing did you do?

Lori, you are one busy lady.

Oh wow, with seven hours in Copenhagen. Hm. Well, first off, there is a train that goes directly to/from the airport, and you don't deal with traffic either way, so I'd take that; lower the risk of getting caught in traffic and less $. I guess what I'd see would depend on what your preferences are. Tivoli Gardens are amazing, but probably hard to see enough of it in that amount of time (and it's a bit spendy as well). I think my favorite things was going to Strøget which is one of Europe's longest pedestrian streets. There are all sorts of cafe's where you can sit and have a coffee or glass of wine and people watch, or shop at any one of the thousands of boutiques. It also isn't too far from the water, so you can walk down there and see how lovely it is. Not too far away from there is Rosenborg Castle, if you're into castles (I couldn't get enough of these either). Rosenborg sits right by the Botanical Gardens (which are across the street from the University where I had class for a few months) which are also lovely. In between the two is the Rundetaarn (round tower) which is one of the "sights" to see in Copenhagen. So you could get in several sights Copenhagen is famous for in one go. The train does make a stop right in that area at a pretty large station.

Now, 5 hours in Helsinki seems a more difficult task. The Ateneum Art Museum is pretty famous. It should be about 30 minutes by taxi (in light traffic). There is a large train station right nearby, but I honestly haven't taken that, so really couldn't advise you about using that instead.

    Have a wonderful time!

Thank, you MT! Will look into those sights. I forgot to metion that I am taking the Baltic Sea cruise. We are thinking that once my younger DD is in college we can go back to these places during a less busy time and explore more. This trip will be the highlight trip for us all. Kids can go back and visit if they like (when they have a job make their own money). Finland seems so beautiful in the winter.

Shepkitty, Ireland is on my bucket list. Would love to visit our dear Feline.

Oy, hopefully, this is our last travel mishap. After waiting for nearly 45 minutes in the plane, we were told to leave the aircraft as there is mechanical problem. Can't be upset as we are grateful they discover the issue prior to taking off. They are looking for another plane.....

Loverly, seriously, not hallucinating, your avatar and mine were gone this morning when I went to post. I always go back to where I see my last peace dove. It was just a little box. The kind when a picture disappears. I looked to see if anyone else's disappeared and yours was gone too. No one else's. It's great that so many can offer words about what to see. Not me Haha, remember living vicariously through your travel. JWoo was always great about posting oodles of pictures on her travels.

Remodel: The fellas left about 5 pm. Great team. They even put up the rough framing for the 77 inch wall which wasn't part of the deal. It was very nice b/c they tied it into their structure. Reduces Donnie and Billy figuring it out.

Can't use it for 24 hours, b/c of the caulking. Bummer. :). The demonstration of the air and water jets was so inviting. The colors from the lights are really cool. New toy and I can get out of it! Which is what started this brouhaha, is I couldn't safely get out of the tub. Even getting in it was like stepping up on a horse b/c of the deck and a step. Yay 25 % done

We are in Amsterdam. Things are small here as expected.

    image

    image

Cars are small. I saw both bicycles and mopeds on the clay color lanes, so I am assuming the lanes are designated for them.

Even our family suite is small (but cozy).

Resting now before we head into town. It's Tuesday 1:38 pm here (4:38 am PS). Jet lagging.

    Happy Anniversary M0mmy!

    Hi MammaRay!

Just resting from having a bad tooth pulled this morning. Love my pain pills! My checkup wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after chemo and rads... 1 extraction and 2 fillings. I'll make an appointment with a dental surgeon to discuss getting implants as my partials won't fit anymore, I'll probably go with the partials. Decisions decisions???

Went to see the oldest church in Amsterdam, De Oude Kerk. The top picture is not mine. Couldn't find a good spot to take a panoramic picture of the church. By the time we found it, I was too close

    image

    image

Close up side view of the church.

    image

    The tower.

    image

Right in front of the church...

    image

The church was smack in the middle of Red Light District!

    image

I wouldn't dare go down the street where the women display their access in the window. No photos allowed. I heard you risk getting thrown into the canal if they caught you snap a photo of them.

    image

We wanted to leave the area before it got dark because we heard that you will get a different crowd at night. Thank God the sun doesn't go down until after 10:00 pm here this time of the year.

Was able to climb the bell tower, but disappointed that we didn't get to see the sanctuary. image

imageVery narrow stairs to the top.

    image8000 lbs plus bell.

Hi Lori, people are quite friendly here. Yes, thank you. I do watch my surroundings, but forget and let my guard down when I am in awe with the architectures/structures.

Feline, you are right..,.everything is enormous in America.

    Hey Patty!!!

Ms. Sas, very cute how Donnie is trying to be the role model for Nick.

Getting late. I need to hit the sack soon or I will look like a raccoon tomorrow.
