So here it is: the Diagnosis (mostly)
I wish I had a better report. I don't even have a full report and here's why. So. In May they found DCIS, Stage 0. Had the lumpectomy 5/26/17.
Got the results today:
They evidently put the biopsy needle right through a 2.7 cm of IDC so that's why IDC didn't show up on the stereotactic biopsy. DCIS isn't even an issue now because of this. Margins of the invasive were clear at 1.2 mm. DCIS was 1.6 cm from nearest margin. Hormone receptors: ER+ (98.87%), PR+ (94.12%),HER-2- (1+ by IHC).
Next stop, SNB (lymph node biopsy). Oncologist says this will help determine staging. Guess this will determine if it's a radiation party, or chemo needs to occur too.
I'm learning the terminology but don't know what everything means yet.
Oncologist was very nice and supportive and yet he says I'm in a fight for my life right now. I want this to be over and I want not to cry. Where is the good news in all of this? I want to thank you ladies in advance; from my first post I am amazed that you all take the time to help a struggling newbie out. I don't want to adult today.

I'm sorry - it is so tough when you get worse news than expected. It's a real body blow, isn't it?
It is good though that you have clear margins and are strongly ER+ as well as PR+ AND HER2-. All of those factors are in your favor; keep that firmly in mind.
Give yourself some time to absorb the news, be gentle to yourself, and ask for Ativan or the like if you're having trouble sleeping/coping. This is no time to be stoic. Come here whenever you need to vent to someone who gets it. Or just for companionship. We all get it. (Hugs) -
Sorry you must find yourself here. Your DCIS/ IDC combo sounds similar to mine. I understand your frustration; in March before I was diagnosed I had my annual mammo and all was clear! By May I had a bleeding lump. All that DCIS/IDC didn't grow in 8 weeks. there is no perfect system. The good news for you is that with such strong ER-PR results there are many treatment options that will give you excellent disease free survival stats. It is hard, but keep your inner strength going and all will be behind you in time.

amsunshine111 - Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you as we head into the weekend. Take care of yourself.

Thank you so much; your words mean a lot to me. I look for some type of glimmer of positivity. Haven't had enough trouble sleeping yet, hopefully never will. We farm, and wheat harvest is starting this weekend. I can't help but be in a GREAT mood because of that! (and it's also a fabulous distraction!)

Falconer - That's good because I am not ready to die yet! I have too much to do. Can't believe we have such similar situations. Love the name too - are you really a real falconer? I have a friend who is.

Hang in there amsunshine. You're going to be ok. I was told my tumor was 1.5 cm from imagining. Ha- imagine my surprise when it turned out to be 2.8cm nearly double. I also had 4 drs pretty confident I had no lymph node involvement. Wrong I had one, but you know what? As devastating as the news was at the time it's all good now. Yep, I did chemo, radiation and now hormone therapy, but life is good again. It's a bump in the road and I promise you'll be fine. As others have mentioned the fact you are so highly ER and PR positive is a good thing. You got this! Hugs

Good luck with the wheat harvest, including good weather for it. That's an all consuming project, isn't it?

Yes, it is...but so exciting!

Yes - exciting and what a sense of accomplishment, too!
