Tribute to LovesMaltese (Carol)
For those not on the Bone Mets thread, our dear mbc-sister, Carol R (LovesMaltese) passed away on Saturday, May 13. Carol was an exuberant, out-going, full-of-life woman, always encouraging to everyone, even when her own disease was not going well. This photo with her beautiful family was taken two days before her passing. Carol, I know you are soaring with the angels because you were an angel friend, loved and adored by so many, including many of us here on BCO. I already miss you terribly.

I will miss Carol and all her encouragement and support. She wanted to live to be an exceptional responder. She did not reach that goal, but she was an exceptional human being. Her caring words were given freely here until the losses of so many of her friends became too much for her to bear. I feel blessed to have known Carol. I am glad she is now free from her pain. I will miss you, my dearfriend, but you will always have a place in my heart.

I hadn't really been around the boards very long when I had for sure realized who Carol was, all of the ladies who were truly her friends would always talk about her And give updates on her progress because many people were always asking. I quickly found out who she was, through you lovely ladies who knew her. I want nothing more than for her lovely family to have their precious Carol, and that horrible breast cancer was something that never took another life again. She was apparently beautiful both inside and outside, she is now an angel and she no longer has horrible scans or constant blood work and monitoring of this, that and the other thing anymore. She is sitting pain free looking down and protecting the ones she loves because it seems like that is exactly what she would do. God bless you Carol and family, you will forever be missed. ~M~

Carol i am just paralyzed in knowing I am writing this to you. Your soul is so pure. How can I forget how you jumped into action as soon as you saw Dani was in trouble. You pm'd and pm'd with advice. You got me straight contact in the most prestigious Center. I have that info, i even called them. Your heart was always with concern for others. You had that wonderful vacation with your family. Beautiful memories. You always spoke to me of your daughters, how proud you are of them, how close they are. You left them a legacy. Now they will carry on with that legacy.
Peace my good friend.

I loved Carol's signature: the devil whispered in my ear, "You are not strong enough to handle the storm.". Today I whispered in the devils ear, " I am the storm.".

I will always remember Carol's ROAR and her strength as she pushed through her treatments and pain. I also remember one of her posts that acknowledged most of us with all the wonderful non cancer things we were doing with our lives. I will miss her.
