I know there is a thread for this but it has not been used since Sept 2016. I have a question. Does your dr run a CA 27*29. I had orig lab work done on March, went to MO she said it was high. Long story short, she has never started tx on me since my Orig dx in Oct and LMX in Dec. She put me on Arimidex (anastrozole) which I started on Feb 10. So less than one month my reading was 244. I told her of course it high you have not started any treatment on me. I had a renal mass and it was removed on March 31, it was cancer.

So >would the kidney cancer be effecting the CA27-29? I had another test ran in April, when I went to a new MO. He said your markers are high, they are 61. Asked if he had seen my first one he said no.

So is Arimidex (anastrozole) working on the breast cancer, since my # is now 61?

I will be starting radiation within the next week, with no Arimidex (anastrozole). Will that effect my tumor markers?

My MO runs CA27.29 every month. I'm on Arimidex too. My numbers have been in the normal range and scans show no progresesion, so the CA 27.29 is a reliable indicator for me.

If your original CA 27.29 was 244 in March and is now 61, I would say the Arimidex is working. Arimidex IS treatment, a very powerful treatment.

Was the renal mass metastatic breast cancer or a new cancer of the kidney?

Thanks, the kidney was a second cancer.
