Itchy with Ibrance?!
Hi, I started Ibrance and Femara combo yesterday. Woke up with itchy skin and scalp. Anyone experience that? Also, didn't sleep very soundly, but could have been nerves.
Thanks,Julie

Hi Julie,
Nope, haven't had that SE yet. I do think that the Letrozole can keep you awake. I take melatonin at night to fall asleep faster. I hope the itchiness is just temporary!
-
If it were me, I'd put a call into your onc. From experience, the itching is usually liver related.
-
thanks, ladies!
Itchiness is better now! Time will tell what all these SEs will be , I guess!

My mother is on her 2nd month of ibrance and letrozole. And she is also experiencing the itchiness and not sleeping well. We spoke with her oncologist about the itchiness but he didn't seem to think it was related.
Hope you found some relief!

well, now I'm getting an itchy scalp, too! Been on the combo for two weeks. The rest of my skin is fine.m just my head is itchy.
-
I have been in Ibrance for three weeks and have also had a very itchy scalp!
-
I hope it doesn't mean our hair will fall out, lol!
-
Yes, I have it too, what are you using to alleviate pain and itch.

Been on Ibrance/Letrozole for 1-1/2 cycles and have been extremely itchy lately-especially scalp. I too am hoping hair doesn't fall out. Been using Nioxin scalp therapy and washing hair only three times a week. I am attributing the itchiness to not enough water so starting today I am going to try an do better with hydration. I do not like water so it is always a challenge.

The CVS specialty pharmacy has an outreach nurse who called me yesterday to see how I was doing with the Ibrance. She mentioned to me that itchy skin is a common complaint with Ibrance users. My skin overall is not too bad, but my scalp is very itchy!

I've been on Ibrance for six months now. I do experience itchy scalp. And in general itching on others parts of the body, but mostly, on the scalp. Also thinning of hair.

Bouka, welcome to our community, and thanks for sharing your experience.

My scalp started itching too with Ibrance. I don't see any hair loss though. I have very short hair now, and that has been a good thing for me. One less thing to deal with.
I usually find I have to distract myself when it starts. Or take an antihistamine, if it won't go away after a reasonable time.

I have had an itchy scalp since starting Ibrance (with exemesthane) in September 2017 and am slowly losing hair. I recently had a biopsy of two bumps on my scalp and found out they have metastatic breast cancer cells. About 2 weeks ago I discovered a bald spot of about 1.5 inches in diameter where it does not appear the hair will grow back in at all. Does anyone have a similar situation?

Itchy scalp and major hair thinking!
