Stage 4 - triple negative breast cancer, mets to lungs

Diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in May of 2014, went through FEC chemo and weekly Taxol for 5 months, then 33 radiation treaments . All of this after a lumpectomy to remove the small tumor. Skip to August 2016, metastasized into tumors on my lungs. Started Carbo/Abraxane chemo....seeing shrinking tumors but still constantly worried.  Gained 45 lbs but trying to live life. Taken several trips since August and still planning them but I feel like everything I have read has a bad prognosis for this kind of cancer. Really sad! Anyone else???

    Becky,

    I was just talking to my NP about TN cancer yesterday! Her mom had it years ago, and mine behaves like TN, even though I'm ER/PR+. I'm sure other "real" TNs will chime in soon.

    Long story short, we were happy that there has been so much forward movement with TN therapies.

    You are responding to treatment, and that is a great place to be. Get out there and play! It's a good idea to avoid Dr. Google, as he has data that is out of date, and often hysterical.

    I too was dx'd with tumors in my lungs in July, 2009. I think I am a "real" triple negative. Back in 2009, triple negative did look like an immediate death threat - but that is changing as the therapies become better targeted. Get yourself a top medical team in a research setting with access to clinical trials.

    So encouraging to read your story! My sister has triple negative stage IV mets and is looking for someone that is going through it that she can communicate with. Do you have a blog or recommendation for how to find others battling this beast? God Bless

    hi,

    My mom has been diagnosed with Stage VI breast cancer that has metstatised to lungs.Please suggest me what i should be doing next. I am devastated with this and feel like i have nothing to live for if I lose my mom.
