Oh my, I'm a huge Koontz fan as well as a fan of the Plumb series. Right now I'm all about the fluff...I am into Nora Roberts right now, and I also just finished The Friendship Cake and it's sequil (can't remember the name or the author, darn chemo) - I'm also into biographies...am waiting to start Bo Derricks and Larry Hagman (remember Who Shot J.R.?) -

Another that just came to mind that I really truly enjoyed was Lisa Wingate's The Language Of Sycamores...very good story of sisters.

I plan to re-read all the Harry Potter series too, I loved them and they are easy to digest.

Isn't it great that we have this great interest in reading? I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with blurry vision with chemo? Especially with Taxol...could be the lack of eyelashes though too...Anyone?...Anyone? LOL

i'm a very nerdy girl who usually loves to read. lots. however, what with everything i've been through, it's been harder for me to concentrate. since i love poetry, i've been trotting that out -- i can read one poem, one special poem, and it can bring me to tears. in a good way. i've been reading sharon olds' 'the unswept room.' (i think that's what it's called.) anyway, i think anything by sharon olds is wonderful. i have some of her older collections, and i love them, too. 2007 -- health, love, peace... annie

Anything by Terry Pratchett is always good. He has a really warped (and very funny) sense of humor.

Currently reading "Water Treatment Plant Operation" - the problem with having to start job hunting in a couple of weeks, get to review all kinds of boring stuff. Probably why I'm wandering around the boards currently instead of reading.

If anyone is interested, "The Omnivore's Dilemma" was wonderful. Really makes you think about the food we eat.

Right now, I am in the thick of "I am Charlotte Simmons" by Tom Wolfe. So far, really good.

I am reading "Bubbles All The Way" by Sarah Strohmeyer. It is a lighthearted mystery, 4th or 5th in the series. If you are from anywhere near the Philly area, it hits home.

Just started "For one more day" by Mitch Albom. "Marley and Me" is in my "to be read" pile. Unfortunately, my job sorely interferes with my reading time.

I think I need to lighten up my reading material. My brother has a bunch of books on buddhism, and a title sort jumped off the shelf at me when I visited -- When Things Fall Apart. hmmm, that sounds like I book I need to read. I learned that I knew a whole lot less about buddhism than I thought. Same brother gave me two more books by the same author, and frankly I think I was getting seriously depressed the more I read.

So then I switch to Wayne Dyer's There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem. Oh bruuther! Doncha know our problems are illusions and what we perceive as problems are happening because we're not connected enough to God. I keep thinking he's speaking metaphorically, but it doesn't come across that way.

I'm reading the second book in The Hot Flash Club series, by Nancy Thayer. Very light and fun reading. Waiting for Wendy Wasserstein's Elements of Style that I ordered from amazon. I loved her play Uncommon Women which was based on her college experiences at Mount Holyoke. I had read in the NY Times of her recent death from lymphoma and was inspired to order this book.

I planning to read the The Sweet Potato Queen's first book again.
My daughter knows I'm getting cabin fever staying home with dh while he's very uncomfortable and unhappy with neck rads. She has made reservations for us to attend the St Paddy's Day Parade, complete with costumes (tiara, boa, red wig, rhinestone sunglasses and T and A fringed dress with majorette boots)in Jackson, MS.
Lots will be going on that weekend including a PJ and pearls "tea" party at a local hotel after the parade.
    Something to look forward to!

I am finishing up Nora Roberts Blue Smoke (my first Nora Roberts book) then will start on The Hot Flash Club Chills Out, by Nancy Thayer. I have already read the Hot Flash Club and The Hot Flash Club Holidays also by Nancy Thayer. They were both funny and easy readers.

Joan, you posted an avatar! Have I missed it before?

Anyway, picked up an oldie but a goodie to reread, Marjorie Morningstar. Also, Everything but Money by Sam Levinson. My uncle has a copy of one of Alan King's books that was compiled right he died. I don't know the title but will get back to you when I get it from him.

Larry was dusting the bookshelves and he pulled down some to take to the book swap and we uncovered a few jewels to keep.

Beth--I LOVE to read Marjorie Morningstar!!That Noel Airman!!

I had a 15 year old avatar for years. It was of me (at 50) holding 4 month puppy Rupert on my lap.He was a Labby/Golden and VERY big at 4 months! And absolutely GLOWERING at (my husband) the camera!I love that picture(maybe I'll get it back!)I had hair that wasnt fried, and relly fancy things like eyebrows and lashes.<sigh>
Next my daughter took some portrais of me, when I turned 65.This is one.It looks a little sweet, and wistful. And I was nastier daily, from good old Femara. So I got me the grouchy smurf.
But after a holiday from AI, I dont feel so nasty.

And now I am sure you know much more about my avatars than you ever hoped!

Speaking of old books, I just finished an Ira Levin festival:Boys from Brazil, Rosemary's Baby, SON of Rosemary (sounds crazy but it's GREAT!!)Stepford Wives, A kiss before Dying. I own them all, and they move everywhere with me.IL is SUCH a great writer!!
