Good Morning All,

I recently had progression while on Herceptin with positive nodes under my arm and chest as well as multiple liver lesions.

I'm on Tykerb and Xeloda and I can feel improvement already in the node under my arm so I know it's working but have been experiencing headaches in the front of my head and temples almost everyday.

Can anyone tell me if one can still develop brain mets while on new treatment and what the symptoms would be?

My doctor said it's unlikely but not impossible either way there's nothing that can be done if it is so will wait to do the scan when it was originally scheduled in May.

Thank you

Nina

hi Nina, I don't have brain mets, but to answer your question, yes, it is possible to develop brain mets or really any other mets while on a new treatment.

There are a lot of symptoms of brain mets. Some are headaches, especially first thing in the morning, nausea , vision problems, weakness, especially on one side of the body, dizziness and cognitive issues. I have the same type of headaches and have had clear brain scans. I finally went to a neurologist and it is migraines. It could also be sinus issues, even though my neurologist said that 80% of " sinus headaches " are really migraines.
