My pet scan showed the one spot on my spine was larger but all the other spot were the same or

smaller. My Tumer Markes have come down alot. From 115 to 97 I am on

Afinitor/Aromasin

and it seems to be working except for the one spot. He said he will do another pet

scan in three month. But he is talking about putting me on Chemo. I told him I did not

want to do Chemo. Do not understand why the med is not helping the one spot??

Caall, I also just had a similar experience. I failed A/A and I was started on chemo, Abraxane. I had a PET done after 9 weeks. I also had a mixed chemical reaction but mine was worse than yours. I had some that were smaller and less active, some were bigger and more active, plus I gained a few more spots. So my MO added Carbo to the mix. He said it was like my cancer had 2 heads. They got one but not the other. I honestly think that it's because all cancer cells are not the same, therefore it affects some but not the others. Not sure what I would do in your shoes with it being only one spot. But I would think about it long and hard. If you have one progressing then potentially if you don't change anything then it will keep progressing and more lesions may appear. Stupid cancer. I didn't want to do chemo again either but it really hasn't been so bad. Whatever you decide I wish you the best. Take time to enjoy the moment

Well I have three months till the next pet scan and then have to make decide. I might go to

Atlanta to the Cancer center and get a second appenion before I do anything. I do not want

Chemo for sure. How often do you have to do the Chemo? Thanks

Hi Caall - If the systemic treatment is working everywhere except for that one spot, it is possible that the cancer in that are has mutated and is resistant to the treatment you are on. Is there a chance you could do radiation to kill the cells in that one area?

    Wishing you the best.

I had ask him before about radiation. I don;t remember what he said. But will bring it up again.

I have a spot on my rib that increased the time before and this time did not. So maybe in time

    it will work. Thanks
