My friend stopped all her chemo and hormone treatments about 6 months ago. She is now showing symptoms like fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, and itching. Has anyone experienced this with Stage IV with metasis to the liver, lungs, and bones? Also, what can expect with her stopping all treatment? Thank you for any insight and advice.

hi sorry to hear friend has stopped treatment

I highly recommend that you seek pallitive care treatment (care regimes for end of life)

see a dr for followup up scans is important to establish mets disease progress as palitive care team will need this info for pain meds etc. Any other advice is not appropriate for a met patient

Hi Aliceolive, what will happen (in general) is that her organs will fail. It's not the cancer that kills but the damage it does to our internal organs. If your friend's liver mets dominate, then she will eventually have liver failure. If her lungs mets are dominant, then shortness of breath, etc.

I hope that your friend has a good palliative care team or a hospice team.

    Wishing you and her peace.
