Hello! I now have a metsastic tumor on my spine. I started radiation today on it. As of today, my tumor markers have not stabilized after switching last month from tamoxifen to a monthly injection (i forget name) and switching to Letrozole. My oncologist is disappointed that my blood work has not stabilized and mentioned maybe switching to Faslodex treatment instead (injection and oral med). My question is- is anyone having success of Faslodex? My one said it's a relatively new drug. Any info you could share would be great. How did I get here???????

Faslodex can be a miracle drug. It took me to NED for five long years, but it needs at least 3 months. I don't think of Faslodex as a new drug. I started it in 2010 when protocol was a single shot every 28 days. In 2012 the research indicated that two shots had better outcomes and my new oncologist insisted that we increase. Did I mention five years of NED?

There is a very active Faslodex thread that you might enjoy reading. At this point it goes on and on for many pages, so some patience is required. You will find quite a few women who have had great success.

    All the best to you.

It worked for four years for me -- two of them NED. The current Faslodex thread is "Faslodex Girls 2014". Enjoy!

    Chantal,

Come over to the Faslodex Girls 2014 thread. You'll see that many of us have been hanging out in "the Fanny Pack" or years!
