First time post & Muscle Soreness question
I was diagnosed in January (2017) - Stage 4 deNovo with 2 small mets to my liver: ER - / PR+ / HER2+. BRCA 1&2 neg. I'm 37 yrs old and a mom of 3 busy kiddos. I've been reading up on many of the forums, learning the language, and already appreciate the community in the Stage IV forums here - its lead me to much personal research and education. Thank you to the longer term survivors who are giving me such hope right now. I am no longer in a heap on the ground overwhelmed with grief, but am learning more about my type of cancer and treatment options out there. I will post in the Liver mets forum as well since I have been following that too.
Quick question - I just finished today my 4th round of TCHP. There were no changes to my pre-meds. However, the infusion rates were faster (except for the Taxotere which was still at 1 hour. Herceptin, Perjeta, and Carbo were all at 30 mins each. I am now having some definite muscle soreness already in my thighs and lower back and am curious if this is just the effects of getting further along in the chemo, or if it could have something to do with my faster infusion rates? Anyone have experience with this and could offer practical ideas?
I am an active person - have a running group and love to exercise (for sanity as a mom of 3!), I'm realizing more and more that with a stage IV diagnosis I am in this for the long haul so I'm hoping to continue in my normal life routines for my young kids and for my own healing/emotional health. Thanks for support and feel free to throw any ideas or suggestions on muscle soreness my way!

the side effects are definitely cumulative. I had no side effects with my first dose of taxotere and herceptin and by the last dose I could barely get out of bed.
I was diagnosed with mets at 42 and also had 3 kids who were 8, 11 and 12. As things got worse, I tried to spend as much as my energy doing " mom" things and let my dh, mil and others pick up the slack cleaning, laundry, etc.
I didn't find a lot that helped with the muscle pain. I would do epsom salt baths or just sit in our whirlpool tub to get some relief.
The good news is that I have been Ned for over 6 years and am no longer on any treatment for over 2 years. My kids are now 19, 17 and 14. There is hope!
