I had an ultra sound in December. They found a mass on my kidney. Suspicious for renal cancer.

My doc ordered a CT Scan, highly suspicious for renal cancer, OR returning breast cancer. Until then, no specific diagnosis was made.

I had in January a MRI, mass still 1.4 cm, highly suspicious for renal cancer.

Las week, I had an ultra sound guided biopsy, only to see if the mass was renal cancer, or returning breast cancer. ( The kidney is actually, a very uncommon place for mets of BC.)

Today, I saw my oncologist.

Path report says.

Its a cyst.( More of other doctor bla, bla, but all b9, nothing to worry about.)

Follow-up in 6 months.

Can you believe this.

Wow is right! I can only imagine the emotional toll all of this has had on you and your family for the last several months. Just thinking about the possibility of having renal cancer or breast cancer in your kidney is frightening. We think that CT scans and MRIs provide us with good information, and of course they can, but in this case they show the limitations of all our high-priced equipment and the humans who are given the task of interpreting the results. I am happy that a biopsy was ordered and the truth was found. The word "cyst" must have brought music to your ears (along with a sense of disbelief.) I am sorry you had to go through the experience, but WOOHOO for the fact it's a cyst!

    Lynne.

so glad it is a benign cyst but I hate that all Drs. Make you hurry up and wait! They have obviously not been there or done that! So happy you can have less stress, now

That is awesome. Not even going to think about why that happened since it was in your favor. Woohoo, time to celebrate.

Awesome. Take care of yourself. In my experience it can take weeks to recover from the shock of dealing with this, good news or bad. Renal Cell Cancer is a tough business indeed. Glad you avoided it.
