My brother had radiation to his lower back and chest area. Huge improvement with back pain and also chest area. But we think that the radiation may have affected his lungs, since he's been coughing nonstop for a couple of weeks. Lung CT was clear, but haziness in upper lobes which radiation can cause. I think for bone mets, radiation is great, but more consideration is needed for soft tissue areas. He had a total of 15 treatments, and the center was far. So it wasn't very convenient, but he made it through.
