Sensi ~ Wow! What an image! Full of both power and peace. Beautiful. How many story tellers will be participating at the event? Cool your friend is so gifted. Nothin' like getting swept away by a good tale.
JunieB ~ Ugh....pink eye. Sneaky stuff that is sooo easy to pick up no matter how careful you are. Hopefully the doc gave you meds to clear your eyes up quick. Good thing you got treatment right away. Untreated, pink eye can cause permanent damage. Having had horrible near slightness most of my life, eye stuff is wayyyyy scary to me. My bestie and DS are the same. Otherwise we are wicked brave! (also why I am so po'd that my vision is wonky now.....I spent lotsa $$$$ to get my eyes lazered to be 20/20)
KIRBY!!!!!!!!!! Oh he is just a wittle wuvvims. Hims the cutest wittle boy ever 💕💕
Love, love the ecard you sent me. Big (((hugs))) my sweet thoughtful friend. Pris greatly enjoyed it too. Not for the motion, but for the music! She sat next to me with the funniest look on her little face, ears wide open, listening with her entire being. I wonder what the piano music sounded like to her? I need to see if I can video her listening! The only other music she really likes is Taylor Swift. Reallly. If I need to keep her busy I just play some of her videos for the kitty.
SOOO
I had the MRI and did not explode. The area of the oops is disturbingly sore. Queenie is correct - there is only a problem if a ferromagnetic metal is involved. Surgical hardware is supposed to stay inside the body and is made of safe materials. My oops is part of a broken surgery thingie and was not supposed to remain trapped in my spine. It IS ferromagnetic metal. That is why a multitude of experts were consulted bfore this scan. And only one radiologist in the state agreed to scan me. I would bet this was a one time only deal.
Results hopefully Monday. Very scared that there might be more of the buggers to show up now that there is a nice clear image to look at.
I totally should embark on a major crime spree while waiting for surgery. Maybe after a nap........
Although I am so awfully scared n' stuff, I think of all you wonderful, wonderful ladies and feel soo comforted by your love, kindness, wisdom and Holy Smokes.
Blessings to you my dear friends💗
-
Glad you didn't blow anything up😜😜😜.
-
Oh man! I was so worried that they would need to pry you off the MRI machine! Whew! Glad you are still here with us. Your case will probably make history in the radiology world! So sorry you are sore where they left the metal. Are they and how do they keep an eye on it? Grateful you are comforted by the Holy Smokes.
I am going to dognap that Kirby! What a cutie pie! Yuck to the pink eyes. The first time I had it was when we were on the boat escaping VN when I was nine. Woke up in the morning and could not open my eyes because they were tightly sealed by the crusty discharge. Thought I went blind. And then I found out that my sister and one of my cousin also had the same thing. Can you imagine the panic in us three girls? My poor Aunt was trying convince us all that we are not going blind while trying to get the gunk out of our eyes with a damp cloth. BBL dinner time.

Sassy should now be winding down from son's wedding!
-
JunieB, I was in the backyard with Mitzy and guess what she did right after she found an "interesting" smell on the pavement? She lowered her front legs, turned her face sideway, and started to rub her right neck on the pavement! I could not scream any quicker. Ran over to me right away with the " I am sorry Mommy, I couldn't help myself" look. Had to wipe her down really well. Yuck! Here she is looking toward the front of the house at our gardener and trying not to bark.
Not sure if she is trying to protect me or trying to get my protection. Probably the later. Ha! She barks at him every Saturday morning and when I tell her to stop, she whines. I guess the mower and blower are scaring her silly.
Ms. Chevy, you should have written that policeman a ticket. Haha. Here in California, we are supposed to safely move over to next lane away when the police stops on the side road with lights flashing.
Shepk, on Thursday around 4:00 pm, I got a text from Peppy saying that surgery went well and that she is waiting for pathology report result.
MammaRay sends her love. She is going through rough time.
Sensi, have fun!
Welcome Cookiegal!! Sorry you have to start all over again with the waiting for the biopsy result.

Hello, insomniacs..
Just wondering if anyone had heard from Sas-Schatzie? I know she was taking a break. Hoping she hasn't left permanently.
-
Another round of snow this morning.
-
Beatmon,
Maybe sas-schatzi will post some pics of son's wedding yesterday. I've no contact with her off-line.
-
Winter here............

Ok here's the results. The tumor by my bronchial tube is smaller. The tumor in my cervical spine is much smaller. Those were the only ones we talked about and I didn't think about that at the time. There's a tumor at the bottom of my right lung and in my lumbar spine. I need to ask. Test results are on the patient portal but I can't really decipher much except 31% reduction overall.
Doc wants me to have 6 more weeks of this chemo, then scan again. I told him I was serious about not doing any more chemo because it's been so hard on my body. He gave me 3 options
1. Do 6 more weeks and hope it's all in remission then switch to a milder treatment
2. Switch to a milder treatment now
3. Quit entirely. If I did, I would probably not last longer than 4-6 months, tops.
That's kind of the nutshell version. I didn't do chemo Thursday, they never could get my port to draw and didn't bother after I saw doc.
I need to call and ask a couple more questions, like what would the milder treatment be, and what about those other spots.
It was a rough couple of days, Thursday and Friday, and with a houseguest over the weekend we've kind of talked around it, but at this point I'm strongly drawn to option 2.
On the Homefront, DH has stopped self-medicating and promised to take care of himself. Fingers crossed
-
Mags, Mags, MAGS!!! Oh holy shamoli! I don't blame you if you can't understand any of what your Docs said.... Or even just some of it. GOOD idea to ask about the different treatments.... Get them all explained, and THEN decide what you want to do.... Listen real close.... It is all up to you, and what you think you can take, after they explain it to you....
Even given the most aggressive treatment, ask what the prognosis is..... What THEY think you can take.... You are really holding it all together, even with the little bit of good news! Just feel happy about that.... AND your Husband! Maybe with a little encouragement from him, it will make all the difference in the world!
I don't know what I would do if I were in your shoes.... But you seem to really have a handle on it..... We all have choices.... Sometimes it's all a crap-shoot....And those damn side-effects ! Okay.... just glad to hear from you..... hang in there girl! xoxo

Just relaxing and taking it easy after another round of hubby and I shoveling. Hubby is making me take it easy tonight.
-
Husband did a little shoveling, but waiting to use snow blower tomorrow. So far only 5 inches of snow.
-
Cooling down here too.... Winter is uckie
-
Mags- I will definitely continue to pray for youespecially for wisdom in which option to do. I didn't know there was an insomniacs page and I'm so happy 😊
I'm so tired now but some nights I'm up half the night! I'll be sure to check backin 😉
-
I just sent a text message to poppy. Anybody heard from her?
I'm at sewing retreat. Yeah.
-
Owlettes, please welcome my dear friend pinkninja! We went through chemo together first time around, and she has joined the ranks of Stage 4 gals.
Please behave yourselves at least until she's acclimated, ok?
P.S. Warning, pink, Chevy may rename you and someone will certainly post beefcake. But we are real. Warts and all
-
Hi ladies- been out here partying in Vegas but had to share I discovered someone very special was performing at my hotel this past weekend. If you click on this link, you who I was able to see. I am still in awe of what I experienced this past weekend.
-
BEHAVE??? ShepK, she is talking to you.
-
-
I got a response tonight from Poppy. She's having a little pain, but otherwise doing good.
Will catch up more tomorrow. Up early tomorrow and just tucking myself in from my trip.
Behave till I come bac

Beatmon, I spoke with Ms. Sas last Thursday. She is taking a break. She was overwhelmed by all the discouraging and sad news. She had lost her cousin to BC around the time she left.
Teka and Mommy, BRRRRRR
Ms. S, I have not heard from Peppy since Thursday of last week.
Mags, good to hear about DH and yay to 31% reduction. Going with option 2 makes sense given the fact that Halaven has been so hard on your body. I have been thinking about you.
Jazzy, for a few milli second I thought you met someone special in Vegas. Ha!
-
I type too slow. I am glad you heard from Peppy, Sensi. You are up late.
-
Sensi - So sorry we didn't get to meet on your pass by Salem. Hope you had a good time in Portland.
Mags - Glad to hear about the reduction in your tumor sizes. Like Chevy said, only you know what you can handle, but if the treatment is having such good results, isn't it worth it for only 6 more treatments? Just asking.
Loverly - What in the world did Mitzy rub herself in? She looks almost like a statue in that pic. Beautiful girl.
I took Kirby with me to the store on Saturday night and he did really well until he saw some balloons. Holey Moley! He about blew a gasket. I am going to have to get some balloons and bring them home to see if I can desensitize him. Trainer is coming on Friday. We rescheduled since I have the pink-eye.
Lita - $500 is still a lot, but I guess it's better than it could have been. I know what your saying though about the premium increase. Back in 2010 I had a man road rage me because my VW Beetle wasn't going fast enough and he stayed on my bumper all the way to the store, then stopped and cussed me out and keyed the entire length on the passenger side of my car. He got arrested and found guilty and had to pay fines, plus 2 years of probation. But, despite it not being my fault at all, my insurer raised my premiums 32% when it was time to renew the policy. You can bet I found another insurance carrier.
Shep - You seem to be holding it together fairly well despite everything. I know though that you are scared. I wish I could do more than send an e-card. So glad Pris enjoyed it too.
Hello to everyone else. I am off to bed now. I am baking Valentines cupcakes in the morning. Unfortunately Lita, no special ingredient though.
Goodnight to all!
-
Shep well done you and best wishes with the crime spree (Freeing animals from zoos and laboratories perhaps ?)
Mags very good news on DH pulling himself together and best wishes with your treatment decisions. You will know what is best when you have the complete info.
-
Loverly- ha ha, I had a couple men hit on me while doing slots.
Here she is

Thanks all for being there with me last week. The Onco Gynocologist said all looked fine, took out ovaries and tubes and sent away to pathologist. Fingers crossed for good results. My big complaint has been the damn shoulder pain from the CO2 gas...so strange but seems to be coming to an end today. Tired, just been watching netflix (Wild China was good, love Mad Men too) which I never find time for and trying to work up energy to sew. Hate that feeling that Im wasting time...
Feel like we are in the middle of a the gods must hate us zone! My town has been under voluntary evac for flooding twice in the last month, a huge train derailed nearby closing the freeway last week and now the Oroville dam. Its mind boggling to think of over 180,000 people evacuated, seems unreal and so sad for everyone. Hope the repairs work.
Thanks again and I'm headed back to read and see what you all have been up to the last few days...I hope you've been good
-
Hey, there you are. Oh yes the shoulder and thoracic back pain is uncomfortable..., all the trapped gas. I had DH and DD tap on my back like you would burp a baby. Not sure if it did help, but the " burping" did distract me from the shoulder pain. Ha! I remember googling ways to move the gas to the other end. Yes, I was desperate because I was so uncomfortable. Imagine me in a squat position. I don't think it's safe for you with your surgery to squat though. Hang in there. Each day is a day nearer to gas free.
Yes, the gods must be mad at us!
Views from I-5
It looks like we have lake front properties. So sad for those who live near the dam. I have been hearing quite a few helicopters flyingover us. Gosh, I hope this next storm is mild.
Jazzy, Diana Ross' costumes! Wow! Did you get goosebumps listening to her? I am not surprised men hit on you.
JunieB, poor Kirby. Wonder why he is scared of balloons unless they popped on him before. Not sure what scent(s) Mitzy likes to roll in. I am thinking the most recent one was the earthworm's??? I can kind of tell now when she is ready to roll and she always has this " am I in trouble look" afterwards. Yesterday my sister ,who just recently moved here, came over to visit with her little family and dog Xena. Mitzy was good with her until Xena approach me while I was reclining on the sofa with my niece, the newborn. Boy oh boy Mitzy showed her other side. She gave Zena several warning snaps to stay away from me. She is such a brat. I feel bad for Xena who is about almost 1.5 bigger than Mitzy.
Susan, how are you doing? Do you still have the eyelash extensions? I am always afraid to have my eyelashes done. My order for castor oil (comes in a container similar to mascara) came in yesterday. Just in time! Yesterday morning I had put eyeliner on and curled the lashes right after . I was wondering why my lashes on the left seemed longer than usual. Last night when I was about to put the castor oil and oh my dear..,,I noticed that at least an eighth of my lashes were cut short. Immediately I ran to get the eye lashes curlers to see if there were any traces of my cut lashes. Nothing!!!!! They must have fallen off somewhere between my home and church So now I walk around with funky looking lashes on my right eye. Can't help but laugh at myself. Grateful I still have 7/8 of it Also grateful that the castor oil came in just at the right time. Ha!
-
sheps, hope test results were good today
Mags, glad they got reduced. I don't like putting my 2 sense in when it comes to treatments, I find it's not always well received....but here it goes mags...just for you my friend. I am on palliative chemo...which is that lower dose your doc was talking about. I do really well considering. Ask smaarty and lover, we met in California. I am all for the lower dose chemo cause it has bought me 5 years fo far, and it's doable I think. Ok...that's enough of that. Praying for you and a wise and comfortable decision for you
Kirby is soooo cute.
Lover, no more eyelashes. Loved loved them. They looked like my old ones. Everybody was telling me how good I have been looking without realizing why. Buttttt, I need to spend my money on different things. So I stopped
Yucky pink eye...hope it gets better soon
Ok...are you all sitting down?? You know I have been saying I haven't been on the boards much cause I have gotten busy with grandbaby and I am tired a lot. Ok.....so you know what I did??? Bought a puppy Sunday. Yep...you read it right...ha ha.. I now have a 10 week old havanese. A boy, I named bailey. I will post a picture. So far, precious and a good boy. My 16 year old dog Shelby, is going to be stunned when he is still here after 2 weeks. We dog sit a lot...ha ha...but this one is staying. So I might be a little more tired...but dog since make me sooooooooo happy. I needed this for my every day dose of happiness:)
