Has anyone tested their tumor through FoundationOne? The second opinion we had yesterday recommended that my mom get a liver biopsy to be sent for regular tumor status testing and Foundation One testing. They said it is unlikely that a mutation will show up but if mutation does show there might be more options available. Has anyone had a successful foundation one testing completed? What are your thoughts? I don't want my mom to have to go through a liver biopsy for nothing. She has already tried all the hormonal and so there is pretty much is only chemotherapy left anyway. The tumor status will probably not affect her treatment unless it turns out to be Her2 positive- which I heard is an unlikely status change.

I myself have not had experience with this, but I know someone who did. They didn't expect to find a mutation, but were surprised when they actually did. I would give it a try if I were in your shoes.

My onc put me in for this before Christmas. Basically, as soon as we found out I was Stage VI. I don't know how long before the results are in. They don't just test for mutations. They test to determine what kind of treatment will actually work on your particular cancer. The idea is to eliminate taking drugs that will never work on you. I'll try to remember to post when I learn anything new.
