INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Loverly, you answered your question before I did! Yes, it's about a 1 year program, and it's $6000. I talked with my boss today..the director of student nutrition. She did the same on line program many years ago and she said it changed in life in a very positive way. She gave me a great deal of good info to think about.
Chevy, Rest and heal, period. Take care of yourself!!!
What puppies? I don't know what you ladies are talking about.
Shep, I was so quiet in your pocket 'cause Loverly was running around cleaning and organizing everything. Just watching her exhausted me. My thoughts and heart are with you!!!
-
Loverly keeping herself busy while waiting for new from Shep.
-
And me..this is how I deal with stress. I said I would be in your pocket, Shep..didn't say I would be helpful! Hugs!!!
-
sheps, we will stay in your pocket as long as you need
I love cooking!! What do you guys want to eat while we are pocket sitting ?
-
Shep-I wish I could meet more of you wonderful ladies. My thoughts are with you as well and I'm sorry to read about Marti. It was pretty crowded in your pocket today, someone kept poking me in the eye. Waiting also to hear how the apt went today. If you need anything, I'm here for you as well. (Side note: I'm actually named because of the song Brandy-It was popular when I was born, and my mom liked the name.
Lita-Woot woot for a fixed tablet
Smaarty-great birthday pictures. Ben is already a heartbreaker.
Susan-Glad that you popped in. Love the pictures of Elena
Lover-Love, love Mia's smile
Waving hello to everyone else
-
Susan-I just finished making us a batch of brownies, though they probably aren't as good as Lita's brownies
. Mine are just chocolate chunk

I LOVE YOU DEAR OWLETTES!
Just had to get that out
Each of you are so special and wonderful. I couldn't have made it through this looooong day without you all. Thank you friends
Best moment of the long wait for the last doctor was FFH leaning over my shoulder and looking at the screen on my tablet as I giggled over Smaarty's ever so beefy-beefcake. "Who's sending you pictures of naked guys??????!!!!!!" OMD, FFH was soooo indignant! I couldn't stop laughing.....I couldn't even speak! It was all I could do to scroll down to Chevy's Puppy pic and show it to him!
I've not been able to sleep for more than a hour or so at a time for the past 3 nights. ack Got about 2 1/2 hours last night. Got up at 5 a.m. to get ready for appointments - 3 hour drive each way - 7 hours with docs. Got home at 10:30 p.m., called my mom and now ready to crash.
Where I go for treatment is an NCI designated cancer center and a teaching/research hospital. There are Oncologists for practically every specialized area of medicine. Although this was my first time meeting him, the brain surgeon works closely with the other members of my team. My regular docs say this guy is the best in the country and would not hesitate to have him operate on one of them.
Soooo.....Brain chit is a bit more than I thought. There is the 3.5 centimeter one messing up my vision and probably hearing. Then there are several areas of small stuff. Big tumor needs to be surgically removed. Smaller ones will be Gamma Knife. MO will decide after the tumour biopsy what future treatment will be. I have been taken off the Letrozole as it has obviously failed. No Zometa infusions for my bones ntil after new trreatment plan has been made.
Crucial to this all is somehow getting an MRI to give the surgeon an accurate view as to what he is dealing with. The metal oops in my spine may make this impossible
Falling asleep as I type.....Good night for now
Chevy - stay inside and take care of yourself. Pneumonia is nothing to play with!
-
Aww WildT, you could have made me look a little bit better than the Carol Burnette cartoon. You know the best medicine while anxiously waiting is cleaning. Somebody has to do it. I had to make sure the surgeon is well equipped with clean surgical tools.
Well, actually believe it or not, I was cleaning at work today
Wow, $6000 is a good amount of money. I hope they have financial aid.
Sensi, chocolate chunk....sure. And you blame it on the skunk.
Shep, you never have to worry about your pocket getting dirty. I am more than happy to stay in the pocket to clean up the mess Susan will make.
-
Ayy?? How did your post get above mine? Wishing you good rest tonight, dear friend. We go to battle along with you again tomorrow. Muah
-
Lover-not a skunk, but mice/rats. 😮 They are going to be expensive boogers! They decided to chew on my duct work in attic, which will now need to be replaced. Trying to first find exterminator to get rid of them. At least I've got my tax return coming.
Way past my bedtime. Sweet dreams to al
-
Shep. Great news that you have assurance of constant communication on your case among your team, that is the best standard.
-
For you dear Shep
-
MAN! I slept 12 hours! But I really feel good... Hah! Just sound awful... but asthma is better!
Sheps, you DO need a whole damn tool-box! Just let us fix you up.... I mean REALLY!
Never mind the dogs.... just call this guy! Hide this picture from your DH... I didn't start this girls.......
-
lover, no worries about dropping food in the pocket. Christmas Eve after everyone leaves, 2 ish in the morning, I am washing the floors. We would make a good team to clean in sheps pocket.
Good luck shep. Sounds like you have a good team. Hugs.
-
Susan, I want some good comfort food while we wait in the pocket...grilled cheese and tomato soup, and Sensi's brownies for dessert.
Loverly, Oh, sweetie...the fact that I did the Carol Burnett Charwoman for you is a huge compliment. (With just a little teasing for your love of cleaning.) Watching Carol Burnett as a child is one of my happy memories. It made me laugh, and warmed my heart.
Sensi, Sorry for the expense and hassle you are going through.
Feline/Chevy, love the porn for women!
Shep, Love it that FFH saw the beefcake pics! I agree that it's great you have a team of doctors working together. I hope you got some good rest. Thanks for the update..waiting for more. Love and hugs!!!
-
Shep- it sounds like you are getting extremely good care. Hearing the brain surgeon is the best of the best is what we need to hear.
You sound exhausted sister, get some rest.
-
Shep- this is for you and your next doctor visit.
-
No, she just said she is too tired... So I'm keeping him company at my house...... having coffee now.... and scones.
-
Jazzy - Holey Schimoley! Nice pic.
-
Been a lot going on this past week, and a few things to share. The best news, finished my final check ups last week with the MO (not sure if I shared that here yet) and found out I only have to do five (vs. 10) years on the AIs. I will be done with those by next March (2018).
The not great news is my car got broken in to at my gym this past weekend during the Superbowl, and while I was swimming. I came out to find one of the back windows punched out. This same thing happened in 2011 and learned my lesson then not to keep anything of value in the car, and everything else locked up (like remote, insurance cards, etc). They stole a bag with yoga stuff, I guess they thought it was a purse or something. I got the window fixed quickly (within 24 hours) and am moving on from that now. I hope the thieves enjoy their yoga practice.
Today I traded in an old mountain bike I have not ridden in awhile for some credit, and bought this cute new bike called a Townie. She is getting pimped out with some extras like some lights, odometer, etc. and hope to bring her home on Thursday (photo included).
And finally, I am going to Vegas for the weekend and doing a bucket list item and going to see Elton John at Ceasers Palace as part of the visit. Rocket man, here I come!
How about that for an update?
-
Yeah, I guess our Shep is still trying to recover from yesterday loooong day. Would a zen spa help?
Or would you prefer...
Or
-
Awww WildT, that is a compliment! BTW, how long did it take you to come up with that?
I like the real pic of Carol instead because they made her head too big with the cartoon. Don't you think this is better?
Sensi, yuck! Those nasty destructive critters! We had problems with them before too. Got into the engine area of my SUV and chewed up the windshield washer hose. Thank God it was not something more expensive. Hope you won't have to pick up extra shifts to pay for the damage to the heater. Have a safe trip to our northern neighboring state.
MamaJ, I can tell you are better
Jazzy, I can't believe the thief's sense of entitlement. Was this the same place where someone hit your convertible?
I always enjoy reading about your excursions. Have fun in Las Vegas. Cute bike btw.
Mags, thinking of you.
Sleep fairy has arrived a long time ago. Nite nite and good morning to our friend on the other side of the earth.
-
Oh hi, Susie. Are you back home? How are you doing?
MammaRay and I exchanged text this evening. She is hanging in there. Trying to encourage her as the HS leads.
-
Bracing for the snow that is coming my way tomorrow. Could see 6-12 inches of the stuff.
-
Loverly- no, the convertible was hit a farmers market up the road, the break in this week was at my gym (ugh). They have some known issues of break in issues at this place. They have all those disclaimer notices about not being responsible for people's property. I get that but at the same time, what are you doing to keep people feeling safe when they go to work out? Thugs in that parking lot.....
The manager was supposed to call me on Monday but nothing. I was going to suggest they get some parking lot security to keep their members safe. I may drop out of this gym, and finding another place to go. I have had issues with this place for awhile anyways. May be time for a change.....
-
anybody need help with their bathing routines this morning? Shep, he can help.
-
Jazzy, Congrats on only 1 more year of the AI!!! The bike is adorable. I SO wish I was joining you in Vegas to see Elton John. I bet the concert will be fabulous!! Bummer about the car break in. You said you had learned to lock up remote and ins card...do you lock in glove compartment every time you drive? Good of you to pass on that lesson.
Loverly, No...compliment sincere, so did not take long at all to come up with it! And the reason I always call you loverly is because I believe you are lovely..inside and out. Yes, your Carol Burnett pic is better..I was just going with the cute/funny version at the time for Shep's entertainment value. What did you mean about the HS leads with regards to Mammaray? (HS to me is high school, so I'm confused.)
-
Jazzy, you would think the wise thing for the gym to do is to install cameras.
WildT, I had to give you a hard time, my friend. Ha!
MammaRay and I share almost the same faith. HS stands for Holy Spirit. I have no wisdom in encouraging a sister whose shoes I have not walked in and I depend on the Holy Spirit to guide me in comforting her. God knows how many times I have put both feet in my mouth. I was just trying to be considerate of our sisters here who don't have the same belief. I used to get annoyed when people talk about God or Christianity (I shouldn't, but still do with some) But since you asked😃..,,,
How was the basketball game?
-
Wild Tulip, Glad you asked about HS. I was equally baffled.
-
hey, I share the same faith and was baffled
