I am Stage IV and was taking tamoxifen, but couldn't tolerate after 3 1/2 years. Switched to Arimidex-have been on it for 4 years. I feel like a slug. I have no energy to do anything. I just saw my Oncologist and all blood tests are normal my CEA tripled in the last 3 months though. He doesn't seem to concerned. My concern is no energy, weight loss without trying. Only a couple lbs a month-not complaining-but concerning. I cannot muster up enough energy to even go out to dinner with friends anymore. Anyone else experiencing this??

Perhaps it's possible that Arimidex is no longer working for you?  Four years is a long run, so perhaps another anti-hormonal (Femara, Aromasin) would work better for you.  I know that when my tumor markers were really high (can be high from inflammation), a short term course or two of steroids really improved my energy level.

I was on arimidex for 4 1/2 years. My body especially my legs and feet killed me. My feet hurt so bad just to get out of bed was horrible. The longer I stayed on it the worse that became. I was also exhausted on it. I think you should talk to your MO about the way you feel. I had to come off of arimidex due to progression. Your quality of life is very important. Maybe try something else. Wishing you the best.
