Wieg, I don't have any answers or advice for you but hopefully someone will chime in here to help you get some of those side effects under control!   Can you give a bit more information on what you have tried for the diarrhea etc?

Diarrhea: The first line treatment is usually Immodium. Ask your medical team how much you can take safely, as it is more than listed on the label. If this doesn't do the trick - try staying off dairy for a week to see what happens. Quite a few of us have become lactose intolerant due to treatment. It happened to me, and I didn't have a clue. I had horrible diarrhea and stomach cramping, and tried to cure it with yogurt! Lesson learned.

If that doesn't work, focus on soluble fiber, like Metamucil clear. It "soaks" up the excess fluid in the large intestine, reducing the urgency to move your bowels. Other ladies who are more familiar with the side effects of Herceptin will be chiming in, I am sure.

Hemorrhoids: If you get the diarrhea solved, the hemorrhoids should resolve. Till then, use pre-treated wipes to clean the area, or just remove your bottoms and clean up in the shower. Hemorrhoids don't respond well to frequent handling. They make specially designed ice packs for the rectal region that can be inserted into the anus. I have one called "Butt Ice". It's not the daintiest thing in the entire world, but it is Very Effective.

Your doctor should tell you what to do about the hernia. I can imagine any sort of bathroom straining isn't fun. Same with the twitching eye (ocular spasms). Does putting a warm compress on your eye give you any relief?

A lot of us benefit from anti-anxiety medication. If this seems like an attractive idea to you, please ask your medical team for some. They come in short or long acting forms, and can really help you through treatment. There is no reason to endure pain or anxiety while fighting cancer as there are pharmaceutical aids for almost any situation.

Best of luck. I can imagine that chemo has come as a shocker to you, as you were diagnosed Stage 4 de novo. It's a wild ride, but this stuff is amazing and your cancer should be retreating soon.

    Cyber hugs.

blainejennifer, thank you so much for the great info, I know about the Imodium just don't want to keep taking pills, what's a good anxiety pill to ask for without the drowsy se? I really am considering an anxiety. Have slot of friends that take it just to deal with daily life. Thanks again for the help going to try yogurt also,

    Hugs
