I had to pill my oldest Devon, 3 years old, for the first time this week. Pill pockets never worked for me before with other cats, but for some magical reason they did this time. One of the tricks is to give them an unpilled pill pocket first, then put the pill in the next pill pocket. Well that worked for 2 days then my Devon decided he would have no more Pill Pockets. Honestly, I think he decided he didn't like the taste, empty or with a pill, so today I attached a Pill pocket (with pill) to a treat he loves (the are moist and do stick) and voila, another pill down the hatch! Will see how long that works. In the meantime, I gave him a pill the traditional way and it turns out he is a relatively easy one to pill, so I might mix it up.

another NYE pyjama wearing pet devotee here

Squeakers got up on the sofa while we watched the fireworks. He sat on DH side first and then mine - not playing favorites. He's not a lap kitty except on very rare occasions.
-
Oh to pill a cat..............the horror!
-
Another pill down the hatch - this time slathered in butter. Success!!!
-
what was that cats name in that show?
-
-
Oh Ruth what yucks!! Zen and Meow. WOnderful. I needed that.
-
If you have trouble giving your cat a pill, try a pill shooter. It looks like a long syringe with a rubber tip to hold the pill.It puts the pill at the back of the cat's throat so she can't spit it out. Then you hold her mouth shut until she swallows.
-
Nice thing about the pill shooter - when they bite, they get the shooter instead of your fingers.

Don't usually see deer in the vacant lots next to me. Today there were three of them. First time my kitties saw one of this species. My red one, Quinn, the most interested.

Ooooo! Someone brought in a Mom with 4 kittens. They are old enough to eat food and Mom is trying to tell them no nursing anymore. They will probably go to foster care, but they were SO cute. There's another older kitten on stray hold. It is probably big enough for adoption. Kittens are like grandchildren. Fun for a little bit, then go back to Mom.

I think everyone is cuddled up with their cat during the cold weather. My never lap cat actually laid over my legs in bed this morning.
We have a first at the shelter. A cat who is so fearful of toys that he gags and starts to vomit when he sees one, including one another cat is playing with. We wonder if he was hurt with toys and that's his reaction? String is especially scary. We'll try to get him into foster care and see if that calms him down. I couldn't foster him because my cat invents toys when he gets tired of his.
-
Poor, poor baby.
Yes, my cat is snuggled up on the blanket that is keeping me warm.
-
Oh Wren, that poor cat. Thank God he has some loving care now.

Teka packing up the X-mas crap!

Thank You!! ^..^

teak, that pic reminder me of a time when I was up by my daughter, packing the car, and to my astonishment there was a cat in my car sitting in an empty box. I stayed there for a long time watching and talking to her, until she decided to go. It was so cute
-
Wow - lucky she didn't accidently go on a ride!!
-
A truce; Henry and the grand-puppy.
-
I can never get enough of my cats in bags or boxes. One of mine won't go there though.
