Beautiful photos Lover!
DD for you

Debating on whether to continue on for my degree at this point or not. It's causing a lot of friction in the house.
-
Kath if the 'roids mess with your a1C too much consider insulin. The se from D are too darn scarey. I've had a pump for years, love it.

Morning gals! Little Loverly.... I'm not really the "wise one".... I'm just the oldest...Hah!
Funny, we can talk about our Mom's or family members here, because we can't do it anywhere else.... I miss my Mom, but it's because she was "my Mom".... I don't think we ever felt close to each other... I don't remember her being around that much... or just so busy with working, and house-work, and Dad.... I don't think we ever went to a movie, or a picnic, or anywhere alone... Just after I was married, and they had moved to California....
We would always go do things with everyone.... Maybe she just didn't know how to do it..... And maybe that's why we learn what to do ourselves, and what not to do!
And we hold our kids close, and do things with and for them.... and always tell them how much we love them.... So they taught us that.... without even meaning to.
What's this about getting blood drained??? Honey, are you sure we are supposed to do that? Do you mean "donate"????
I did that just once! And then went back to work, after eating a light lunch, and got sicker than a dog! I never did that again....
And you have flip-flops on? Those are thongs! Your legs are so cute!
Haaaaaaah! That's funny! Your Dad was petting the turtles! One time when we were in Orlando, we drove down to Melbourne Beach and stayed a couple nights.... We watched the Turtles come from the surf and dig nests in the sand and lay their eggs... It was magical..... at midnight! So quiet, and only the sound of the Turtle, kind of groaning..... and working with her flippers, to dig a nest, and it sounded like work!
A lot of signs around the beach for NO LIGHTS... QUIET.... In other words don't disturb the Mama Turtles.
Kath! You have cataracts??? Do glasses correct that without surgery?? My DH had his taken care of, and can see great now....
Yes "Wild Thing".... You make my heart sing! Wasn't that by the Troggs or someone like that?
When someone would play that on the juke-box at Coors, in the lounge, a bunch of us girls would dance and sing to that! Everyone would start singing!
-
Chevy, the tinted glasses are to cut down on the glare from headlights at night. Sun and headlights cause havoc for me because of the cataracts. I'm a wuss at the thought of the surgery. I know, I know it needs to be down. Yuck
Mommy, so sorry you are getting grief for wanting to get your degree. My heart goes out to you. I hope whomever is causing you this stress can open their eyes and see the importance of doing this is for you. Praying they see the light.
Mamma, ((((HUGS)))).
Oh, family memories. Mine are fond memories of my dad. He taught me how to cook, use a hammer and saw, and encouraged me in my endeavors. My mom never gave me credit for anything, particularly as she got older. Looking back, I do think my mom was jealous that my dad did things with me but she never saw in herself how she way favored my brother who was older. Oh well

Oh my, when I opened this thread it popped me to the last page.
Lover, hmm might have to think about a trip to Hawaii. Gorgeous pics. Looks like everyone is enjoying themselves. Check your DD's school policy on scholarships to be sure.
JunieB, I think Kirby will be keeping you on your toes. Sounds like a very curious and adventuresome pup. Can't wait for pics of him in his right and proper home.
Forward, you're very talented. Wish I had a thimble full of your talent. Mine was gardening but have given that up for the most part.

Sending love to all the Owlies💟
(apologies to Queenie for something I noticed after posting) 😱
-
Just popping in to wish everyone a very happy holiday, however you may celebrate. Thank you for your support this past year
-
Smaarty- let me know if you need anything once the 24th get's closer
Lover-love all your pics, glad you weren't hurt too bad in your fall
Chevy-it's sort of like donating blood. I have hemochromatosis. Can have too much iron build up in the blood which can cause organ damage. Since chemo, I have not had a period, and now that I'm not having a cycle, iron levels have gone up. I will have a phlebotomy when iron levels (ferritin) is over 50. It had been under control, but is now all screwy. They can't/won't use the blood, because of the excess iron in it (such a waste).
Mommy-hope you will be able to continue your classes.
Junie-Kirby sounds adventurous.
Mamma-you make a great Santa
Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow. I work in the morning and then will celebrate in the afternoon with family. Goodnight all
-
Mamma, you make a wonderful looking Santa. What a wonderful memory you created.
May everyone have a wonderful and safe holiday season.
-
Mamma what a lovely photo, your son will have many happy memories.
-
Loving all the Christmas pics and happy memories - old and new!
-
MamaRay! That was a beautiful thing to do! Wow! I can just feel the "magic".... Hah! I wanted our girls to believe in Santa Claus forEVER! But they learn how not to believe in things in school....
We went shopping at Colorado Mills yesterday.... Didn't buy anything, but stopped and had coffee, and watched all the people... Then the LINE waiting to see Santa! The little kids were sooooo excited! Everyone was so happy!
It was fun smiling at all the little kids, and them waving back! I'm glad we spent our Christmas Eve Day at the Mall..!
Sensitive! Good Morning! What were you doing still UP? Hah! Okay I think I understand... I will look up phlebotomy also....Sorry for all you are going through.....
Have a wonderful Christmas gals!
-
Merry Christmas everyone. I don't post much anymore but I still read this thread in the wee hours.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! And HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Kathy, Great wedding pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Lita, I think my Dr was saying that the AI's do cause the pain, because they are lowering the pain threshold. But, that they don't cause arthritis, or at least the clinical definition of arthritis. But, this is one Dr, and we all know that each Dr has their own opinions and studies can change these opinions over time.
Lovery, I'm returning to work the 4th, or after (as needed), when school resumes. The temps here today have been low to mid 30's. It was raining a bit ago! Big change from last weekend when it was -20! This AM when I took my kids to their dad's it was colder and icy on the roads and with rain today, supposed to get icy again tonight. It would be better if colder and snowy. Was that a confession to wearing thong undergarments in your comment to Chevy?! I'm glad Mitzy is having a good time on her vacation too. I love all of your pictures, especially the waterfall, and the hat is cute. How's your bum?
Forward, Cute crafts you make. How creative and patient of you!
Mommy, I'm sorry the degree is being debated.
Zills, Hi!
Chevy, That Wild Thing video made me smile. I knew the song, but have never heard of the Troggs.
Mamma, SO fun you dressed up as Santa. It looks so real..you fooled me!!
Feline, Those pictures of DD took my breath away. Seriously. Between the beauty of the graceful lines your daughter creates and the use of light/shadows by you..truly captivating!!
Hugs everyone

Merry Xmas ladies. I have been buried with a system go live and also seem to loose you off my favorites in my absence, so I am back and wanted to wish all of you a good holiday season what ever one you are celebrating, even if it is just the end of the year. Blessings to all of you for a healthy and happy New Year!

Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you for all of the laughs and support these last few months. Its been great getting to know you. The pictures the last few days have been especially wonderful.
Sensi, Smaarty and Loverly - looking forward to a January meetup. Maybe before Smaarty's surgery? Wow remember I was only 2 weeks post op last time, seems so long ago.
Mammaray - Love it, did he have any idea you were santa?? That is such a fun thing to do!
-
Loverly, for your DD1.....
-
I'm exhausted, too. Here I am with Olaf on Christmas Eve, b4 the total mayhem started. Was able to cook a halfway decent turkey dinner for my brothers who came over for Christmas Dinner. Thank Heavens I had my DH and DD to help me!
Back was killing me (bone mets) by the afternoon. Parked my butt in the La-Z-Boy with heat and massage full blast after dinner.
Trying to recuperate today. Laundry and mopping the floor will have to wait until Tuesday.....phew!
-
Mamma you are right about some of the posts, very disheartening .
Beautiful picture LIta, sounds like you had a lovely Christmas. You deserve to sit back and put your feet up.
WIldtulip enjoy your time off work, I would rather have snow any day then freezing rain . We got 2-3 centimetres of snow just before Christmas, it has been sunny and cold for the last couple of days. I forced myself to go for a walk yesterday , but I think I will exercise in the house today.
I admire the person who takes the time to decorate the van with Christmas lights, that is Christmas spirit.

Hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
MammaRay ~ You were a perfect Santa! I'm smiling right now thinking of how excited your son must of been
Feline ~ DD is simply stunning. So graceful looking!
Kath ~ I have glasses with an anti-glare coating on the lenses. They really make a big difference at night. Don't know if they would help with cataracts? Eye stuff is scary! I had Lasik to correct my nearsightedness years ago. I was terrified! The procedure was painless and very fast. That was 16 years ago and my vision has stayed 20/20. I'm very glad I had it done. My Bestie is a REALLY big wuss. He had cataract surgery a few months ago and has declared the surgery "no big deal". He is delighted to be able to see at night again! You'll do fine if/when you decide to have your eyes fixed - Honest!
Lookie ~ So glad you're hanging around......I've missed "seeing" you!
Jazzy ~ Don't get "lost" again! You were gone waaay too long.
Meadow & Zills ~ "Hey!" Great to see you two!
Chevy ~ The audiologist at Costco was awesome. Very thorough and knowledgable. He was mad that the guy at Sam's had scared me about my hearing and mad that the ENT was such jerk! Costco guy says my hearing is fine. He suggested I go to a better ENT! He is wondering if the combination of my sinus issues and the Letrozole are causing my tinnitus. Crazy, huh?
WildT ~ Thumbs doing any better? So nice you get to have the same days off as your kids. Hoping you all have just the right mix of relaxing and fun
Loverly ~ Love your Hawaii pics! I don't like heights though....those cliffs gave me the heebie jeebies! Are you still sore from your tumble? That must have been so scary! Hope you're staying on flat ground now. Tell us more about your Dad and the turtle! Was it a sea turtle he was loving on? Where was he petting it? I very much like turtles. The giant Galapagos are my fave. They loooove to have their necks gently scratched - can't do it themselves! If we are anywhere with big turtles, I will call one over and love on him/her. They are sooo cool.
JunieB!!!!! ~ Hoping you had great time with your friends. Has your cold eased up?
Sending out thoughts of comfy rest and happy dreams to all
And sharing one last Christmas pic.....Andy, the predecessor of Miss Pris...........
-
Hey Shep, Are you still on line? Pictures of Marti and Andy made me smile!
-
Hey WildT .....You are up either too early or too late . Everything alright? I messed up and stayed up all night havng fun with laundry. Just looked at my calendar and I have a dentist appointment today!!!! Gotta try n sleep. I'll check in on you later
-
Hi Shep, Yep..everything is fine. I woke at 2:30 am..tossed and turned until 4 and then got up. Usually stay in bed tossing/thinking when I can't sleep, but just decided to see who was awake. My turn to work on laundry. Good luck at dentist. Sweet dreams!

Despite both hubby and I being sick over the weekend, we managed to have Christmas. Had one pretty funny incident when we opened gifts. Hubby didn't know I had gotten him the movie Purple Rain for one of his gifts. The minute he unwrapped the movie, he went " uh oh" and I didn't catch on until I opened up my gifts and saw that he had bought the same movie for me. Thankfully I had saved the receipt for when I had bought his copy of the movie. We kept my copy and took his back to get something else for him.
The last time something like this happened was when I bought a copy of one of the Twilight books and he forgot which ones I had and he got a second copy of the same book for Christmas one year. He ended up taking the second copy back and getting me something else.
-
Morning you guys...... That was funny Tulip.....Hah! When I wake up like that, sometimes I sit on the edge of the bed, and watch the weather channel, or Cops, or something to take my mind off of "stuff"...
My Hubby and I exchanged a few gifts with each other that our girls/grandsons had given us....! I gave him those expensive reading glasses with a case, and he gave me a tall tumbler, with a straw, and a little cup on top for "snacks".... We are used to buying those reading glasses at the Dollar Store...! Oh well....... And I'll have to find a use for that tall plastic glass, with room for snacks....????
But I LOVE our gift cards from them! Went to Ross, then Walmart, and yesterday was the slowest day in ALL the places! A lot of sales on "We baked too much" in the Bakery"... So the squirrels AND both of us got fun things to eat! And we can keep it outdoors, in a "cooler" because it'a FREEZING out there!
Sheps.... Maybe your hearing will straighten itself out... It could very well be caused from ANY meds you are taking! Even too much Aspirin will cause hearing loss. The Tinnitus I have is just THERE! For years now... just there! When I first told my PC that all of a sudden I can't hear, she said try treating it as Allergies (for a month) So I took Claritin once a day.... didn't help at all... I tried sinus rinses, Debrox, flushing....but nothing helped.
It was DH who said "It's gotta be something you are taking".... So I just stopped the Tamoxifen.... but the damage was done...... Yes, the ENT did about the same testing as Costco.... ! Only Costco was free! And the same hearing aids through them were 1/2 price.
I'll pick up my new ones Saturday, hopefully... They are guaranteed.... and they stand behind everything they sell.... And give me new plastic things for them whenever I go in, and clean them.... They can't do anything about the wax problem I have... but the ear candles help more than any flushing I have had done.
Do maybe just be patient. My Daughter has such bad Tinnitus also... she sleeps with her TV on... Or listen to "white" noise... Any soft music... or sounds of ocean waves, rain and soft thunder.... NOT some crazy LIGHTNING STORM WITH BLASTING THUNDER & HAIL..... Hah! You will get used to it... and it won't seem as prevalent as it first did....
