Alyson, Gus is adorable. Unless you think he's missing a companion, I would leave well enough alone. It's so hard to lose an old family member. I'm glad you were able to love him to the end.
Rose, I think a kitten might be too much for Emmy. Did she play with Percy? If she did, a 3-5yo cat might be a better match. Do you have room to give the older girl a place of her own where Emmy can't come? There is some stuff called Feliway and is supposed to keep cats calm by spreading pheromones of happiness and content. I have seen collars and spray plus something that plugs in like an air freshener. I'm not convinced it works, but we use it at the shelter. I agree that falling snow is really pretty. I could just sit and look at it all day.

Feliway worked great for me! At one time, my 9 year old Emma had a "friend" Ms Boo. Also a tuxedo of the same age. (She died of FIP in 2013.) Ms Boo was the dom in the relationship. (Oy, two females. Never again.) I would plug in the Feliway atomizer and harmony existed. Otherwise Ms Boo was just mean to poor Emma (and Emma is no slouch when it comes to being a dominant now in her absence, but just to outsiders). I could tell when the atomizer ran out of juice just by Ms Boo's behavior. It worked at my house!

Feliway is an excellent suggestion. I used Feliway on Oreo (who had a spraying problem). I know it worked for us because when the Feliway was plugged in.....no spraying. Diffuser empty....spraying, like clockwork.

Where do you buy this miracle substance? I will definitely try it. Off to chemoland and then I will check back.
-
My vet has it, but you can order it off Amazon or most pet supplies stores and websites.

Riley and tinker are ready for Santa.

Smaarty ~ What a lovely "Kitty Tree"! 😊

My grandcat playing peek a boo in the window of her new house.

Smarty your tree is lovely! So is the cat and the cool rug! You are so creative.
Spookiesmom- your grandcat is beautiful Calico cats with bright clear patches of color and white are so pretty!!

Smaarty, I didn't see the black and white cat until I looked at the picture today. I kept wondering if the toy was a kitten. Then today there he was.
Spookie, Calicos are the best. My first kitty was calico and a real love bug - until I had DD. I ended up having to find her a child-free home.
-
There's a cartoon on breakingcatnews.com. The cats run a radio or TV station and report the news. For Christmas she's doing the soap opera 'days of our IX lives' and it's hilarious.
-
kitten, that's her name, wandered into DDs classroom about 6 weeks old. She is extremely shy. Nice though when she comes out of hiding.

Spookie - beautiful shot!

Checking in to catch up on everyone's pictures and posts. Just love this thread and all the cats. Here's my Xmas helper (not really very helpful BTW) on decorating day. She decided her job was to keep the Xmas stockings from escaping. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
-
So it's Parker's turn to wait for Santa. She's the one that removes the ornaments. See the candy cane on the rug? That's her.
Spookie, love the mascara on Kitten.

-
VERY suspicious.

Why I went to bows, candy canes and lights when we had two cats.

Here's an old picture of one of our cats/Christmas tree topper.

Ouch 😺. A cutie.
