High AST ALT and LDH liver levels
Hi ladies
Well it's been awhile since I started my journey in March finished T/C Chemo in August and finished radiationin Nov..Going to start hormone therapy in Jan. I just saw my general oncologist last week and my blood test always post to my portol before I discuss with her. Any way my liver enzymes are all elevated ALT 54 AST 67 and LDH 279 none were ever high in previous test even during chemo my LDH was elevated to 248 one time. I will talk to her on Monday but I am so very scared any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much and God Bless you!💟

Hi Marge,
I can't remember the numbers now, but last spring on one blood test my AST & ALT shot up sky high. My MO and his PAs were very reassuring, explaining that it could be a test error (apparently quite common) or any number of variables, but they saw no reason for alarm. I wondered if it was because I'd had a couple of mixed drinks while our New Orleans relatives were visiting. Sure enough, my levels were back to normal the next week, and it hasn't happened again since.
So, take heart, I'm hoping that yours was an anomaly, too. Try not to worry too much.

Before, during and after chemo, my sister's liver enzymes were elevated greatly. It was scary! Her numbers were substantially higher than yours. I did some research and found that Milk Thistle helps the liver. I bought her some organic Milk Thistle supplements on Amazon. Sure enough, after she started taking it, her numbers went down and then back to normal finally!!
Just wanted to share her story with you...

thank you Katty I hoping that is the case just re do blood work and it turns out to be normal.

thank you Denise I am going to start with redo and see what happens from there.

I didn't have chemo but mine were very high,in the 700 range and it turned out to be anesthesia. It slowly came back down to normal
good luck!!!

While outside the normal range those values don't seem alarmingly high. Mine were elevated (much higher than yours) recently and it was caused by taking Tylenol with codeine after my implant exchange. Once I stopped and retested they all went back to normal. Have you been taking anything?

Mine have been off the scale all year (much higher than yours) but they're now finally back down to normal. My MO said it's nothing to worry about as long as the trend is downward after you finish chemo. I had a post-chemo Pet/ct that showed a fatty liver at the end of chemo (was perfectly normal before I started), which explained the high readings.

Mine are like your #s (ALT, AST) and it's being watched but we think fatty liver is the culprit- I'm way overweight.
