DD really enjoyed "The Barber of Seville." It was a wonderful production. I only dozed off a few times, ha ha....but I've seen this opera b4, so I didn't feel too bad. Gonna take some cannabis edibles tonight to make sure I get some decent sleep. Lots to do tomorrow.

Sensi - Yes, Kirby it is! Also, Shep suggested the Von Piffle part which I think is cute. So, Kirby Von Piffle may make its way onto his registration papers. :0) Glad work is going well for you.
Shep - It is good to see you posting again. You are greatly missed when you are under the weather.
Lita - Glad you enjoyed the play and your time with your daughter.
JazzyG - Hopefully you are experiencing sweet dreams on your new bed at this moment. It is nearly 3:00 a.m. here now.
I guess I had better hit the hay myself now. Catch you all later. Have a great Monday!
-
WildTulip Winters in Ireland nowhere near as cold as yours We do get snow sometimes but it is rare enough to be a big deal! Seldom lays long either.
Patty are they feeding you yet? Hope so!
-
Woke up to more snow this morning. The northwestern corner of Connecticut got nailed pretty good yesterday. Some schools up there are closed because of it.
Going to get breakfast and then get the turkey on the road to de-thawing.
-
Sensitive- good to hear people are kind to you on your return to the work place. There are many people out there who have been through cancer treatment of all kinds, and they are the ones to always make you feel most comfortable. I worked through rads treatment and was tired for a long time after I finished that, so be patient with that and just get a lot of rest at night. You are coming through this friend!
JazzyJ- new bed is awesome! Got a bit more firmness than that old bed of mine they hauled away yesterday!
-
Good morning, friends.
Glad my work is slow andI am glad I don't do this for a living.
-
lol
Well the turkey is de-thawing in the fridge. Still seeing snow showers here. Just sitting enjoying a hot cup of tea right now
-
caught eating her books
-
Loverly, where'd you find that picture of me before my first sip of coffee?!
-
mammaray, I am sipping cranberry prosecco. And watching hockey...lol wish I could join you on thanksgiving. Very small group this year for us.....and they aren't the fun ones
-
Susan- that baby! What a look on her face! She is a doll
-
that picture was when mommy was gone. She is a youth group leader for 7th graders. They were on a retreat that weekend. Andrew ( hubby) sent me that picture captioned....what Elena is doing while mommy is away....lol. She looks like the kid with her hand caught in the cookie jar.
-
Great picture of Elena.
-
Susan - Elena is adorable. That look of Uh Oh! is priceless. She's growing so fast. Seems like she was born just a short time ago.
Sorry you'll have to spend thanksgiving with people who aren't enjoyable. Me, I'll be home probably sewing or knitting. The family I usually spend holidays with has had too many medical issues come up (Sister had a stroke, hubby is having medical problems, and son is too.) so they decided to cancel this year. Christmas will probably be the same. At least I have Kirby to look forward to. New pics were posted on FB today. I wish I could figure out how to copy them from FB to this site. Didn't work last time. Thankfully Shep was able to do it for me.
JazzyG - So glad to hear you slept well on your new bed.
Mammaray - Yum, Egg rolls and Iced tea for me please.
Hello Feline!
Smaarty - Are you back from vacay yet?
Sensi - Glad you have supportive people at your workplace.
Loverly - That looks a bit like me too before my morning coffee. Are you cooking for Thanksgiving?
Everyone have a goodnight.
-
JunieB ~ Just got through typing a loooong message to all. I'll post it and then go get your baby pics
-
MammaRay ~ I love my heated blanket! I don't bring my blankie traveling, but I always do take my little heater fan with me. It is a true fact that all hotel bathrooms are COLD! I am so jealous of your little vay-cay. Egg rolls? Ewww... Pizza rolls!
Other people's family dramas are so much more interesting. We should all make plans for future holiday gatherings to do some visit exchanges
Susan ~ Aww... The dear baby does have good "taste" in books. Harold and The Purple Crayon is awesome. Nice to see Elena "feeding" her imagination
M0mmy ~ Tea and turkey are lovely. Snow is not!
Feline ~ South Carolina winters sound like yours. Just a dusting of snow shuts the entire state down. As it should
Jazzy ~ A new comfy mattress is a wonderful thing isn't it? You like a firm bed? I need a super soft one. Remember the Princess and the Pea? That's me!
Lita ~ snoozing at the opera.....told ya those dark theaters are too tempting. Hope you get some better sleep tonight.
Loverly ~ Hope you are feeling better. Sinus stuff is so ucky. The saline stuff is supposed to be the best for clearing things up - may it work soon! I never did thank you for posting that lovely pic of that sexy man with the custom blanket. Obviously a thoughtful fella, going to all the trouble of putting together all those photos on the blanket. Ooooh, and the leopard print. My fave! (for real!) He's not overly obese and seems to have hair covering the top of his head. And those skivvies looked clean ........geez, now I do feel like you were teasing me
Wildt ~ I had my trigger thumb and finger injected October 10th. So far it's still working. You did well to get almost a whole year out of yours. Have you been able to get an appointment for it yet? Sucks to have it happen now with the holidays and all
Mags ~ That pumpkin pie picture was just so wrong!
Jean ~ I think it was Smaarty way back a long time ago that posted about comfy bras. Bali Comfort Revolution bras are wirefree and really comfortable. Style 3484 is unpadded and style 3488 has foam cups. Both hook in the back. Amazon has them for decent prices. JC Penney sometimes has them on sale too. The lymph nodes under my left arm make bra wearing uncomfortable. I wear the Bali bras all the time now.
JunieB ~ Yes! Kirby must have a formal name Von is used to denote royalty and Kirby most certainly is a little prince! How was the movie Friday? DS was going to see Dr. Strange last week too. He hasn't given me a review yet. Did you see it in 3D or regular? Love 3D movies!
Queenie ~ Happy birthday month! The secret to having a birthday without getting older is to just celebrate the same one every year. This month is the celebration of the 21st anniversary of your 29th birthday. Yay! Last month was the 22nd anniversary of my 29th birthday. We are the same age!
Smaarty ~ Love, love your pictures! Was that a wild Cockatoo? The BIRD not the hot snack tray man! Gotta be careful how to phrase things around here.......
Patty ~ Thinking of you
Need to catch up with everyone but outta steam......
Love to all y'all
-
Sensi ~ I saw this in the Bed Bath & Beyond sale paper and thought of you and Chance

JunieB ~ Here's your Kirby! Such cute babies 💗
Kirby is on the far left below
Kirby is the pup in the yellow collar
-
Oh Bless You Shep!
-
Woke up to it having snowed overnight. Just enough to turn the ground white.
-
Jazz, in the dog food bowl. Kirby knows what he wants....lol. So incredibly cute. I bet you can hardly wait.
-
JazzyJune- I like my bed softer too. This one is called "plush" but just feels like it has a bit more substance than the old one. It is from a brand here in the west called Denver Mattress and the bed is called Doctor's Choice. My second one of these. The new bed is marvelous.
Your little guy is so cute. Won't be long now!
-
mammaray - Egg roll cravings? A sure sign of something, not sure what! Hopefully you found a good substitute snack.
loverly - Hmmm hiking in January, I do need the motivation. I have been back on the treadmill a few times lately. Physically ready but not emotionally ready to head back to excercise class. Deciding how much to say, what to wear foobwise and all that, keep putting it off, maybe this week maybe next.
wild t - Thanks now I see Sensi's note to me through you lol, its like having mail forwarded. I forgot to ask the doc about when to wear prosthesis but you are probably right. I cant imagine wearing the heavier one, I have the foam puff ones now and they are comfy. The shop called to schedule a fitting should I wait for the fitting, my BMX was 6 weeks ago?
jazzyj - Kirby is so cute, how did you choose him with so many adorable siblings?
shep - Those Bali bras are what I wore before, they are the best and thats what I tried on (with foam foobs tucked in) that my bmx chest didnt like just yet. Too soon I guess. I hope my DH doesnt find out about the remote pet treat machine. He gives the cat a kitty treat every time it looks at him, we will go broke.
jazzyg - So how do I know if I like a soft or hard mattress? I've tried laying down on them at a store and they all feel good. And how do I know if it needs replacement? Mine is very old, we bought it in 1991! It is huge and expensive so I've just never replaced it but how do I know when I need a new one? DH has a bad back so is uncomfortable sleeping everywhere but I think it feels ok.
sensy - I can see why you were excited to get back to work, it seems like a nice place to be. I'm happy for you. Hoping the renter can find a good pup/friend for Chance that would be great!
susan - I have to agree the baby and the purple crayon book, she knows whats fun to read, great picture
queenie - Bras and Loverly ... do tell what gives
? I wont tell Loverly you told.
-
So happy to have writing project done. The only remaining writing assignment the professor wants us to do is a 3 page reflective essay on our writings from this semester. I can knock that out in a day next week.
-
Imagining virtual T-day meals with the lovely ladies (and a few gentlemen) on these boards. Pleasant company. No calories or cholesterol.
-
Got a lot to do tomorrow but at least it is a manageable lis
-
mommyof2, sounds like you have done a great job with school. Yeah you. Something to be proud of, and thankful:)
Lover, how are you feeling? My uncle tore something in his knee:(. Claire and I will be renting a car.....now we have more time. Gonna stay around the area, in a 2 hour or so radios north. Got any suggestions
-
JeanQ- I think it depends on the mattress but usually 10 years is the recommended replacement time zone so you are way overdue! I bought two new mattress sets in my life (I used a futon for years and would replace the pad for that through time), and my experience is that springs start being felt through the top or in my recent case, one started pushing out the side. Both of my sets went about 12 years after purchase.
How to choose? Most have soft toppers now so they may all feel somewhat soft but you should feel a good amount of comfort. Lay on your side, or back, and see if it feels like you could fall asleep on the bed? It really is a personal preference. I know people with chronic back problems and they love a super hard mattress. I like my plush but with some firmness. Anything too soft creates problems for my back.
There are lots of types of mattresses and they range from in the hundreds to the many thousands. Make sure you get one with a good warranty too (mine is 15 years, the last one was 10).
Hope this helps!
-
Hey, Susan. Just pm'ed you. Sorry to hear your uncle injured his knee. Not good to drive 5 hours with it.
Still trying to fight this cold. Can't think straight. Meant one thing and said something else a few times. Note to self: empty bladder frequently so when the sneeze or coughing spells come, I don't have to worry about leaking Oh the joy of getting older.
Getting together with extended family this Thanksgiving and don't want to give this to anyone. DD is coming home this evening. Yay! No classes today. I was able to book her a last minute decent priced flight home.
We have our mattress for 15 years. Still ok, I guess. I would be afraid to test different mattresses. Might fall asleep right in the store like these folks:
-
Loverly- ha ha! those are good ads for selling a bed but oh those people must be tired!
Well, I had this crotchy old man come in while I was talking to my sales person who was trying to "work a deal" and took over her attention for awhile. No rest for me during that time, while he went on and on about how hard it was to find a good bed (eye roll). He talked about being in his mid 80s and that he was on a fixed fixed income, ya da ya da ya da. I could see it was his project and he was taking the whole thing quite seriously! I watched how well she handled him though, firm but kind about giving him free delivery etc. when they could not as they use an outside company. I tested out a lot of beds while that was going on, and thought to myself "that man is just going to take up her time (and some of mine) but will be ready to buy today!" I already knew I wanted another one of these beds.
Sorry about your cold and hope you feel better. I have a sore throat the past few days and worried I had one coming on and have a procedure tomorrow but think I am good to go.
