They could be twins!

We painted cats in my art class today. Not an easy subject. At least we had photos and didn't have to try to capture them while moving.

Wren - I want to see!!!! I'm painting a Devon Rex kitten (belongs to a FB friend in Austria) in my oil painting class. This is a pretty rigorous oil painting class, so we start with a grid to transfer drawing from the photo, then do an underpainting before applying color. This is my underpainting in progress . Wren ~ Painting cats! Yes, capturing them while moving would be ever so difficult and oh so messy..... paint everywhere! lol.....(wiping tears from eyes) 😸

Feline ~ Awe.... that would be the best work day ever! Except for me.... my kitty bites 😿

Quinn ~ Neat! He'll be so handsome after you add his fur!

Ruth ~ So touching that you were given a remembrance plaque for Oreo. And so lovely to be laid to rest near his loved ones.....and a hamster

I'm sure Henry being a manly cat is just keeping his emotions to himself.

Your hamster brought back a cute memory.... So long ago it was, my kids and the neighborhood kids were all fairly close in age and all great friends. The brothers next door were about four and five when their beloved pet hamster suddenly passed away. It was devastating to all. Their daddy was a big strong Marine (and a great big softy). He comforted the boys and then planned a funeral. A little box was lovingly prepared and a moving backyard service was held. All the neighborhood kids attended dressed in their Sunday best. Daddy gave a sermon, the loved ones of the deceased said a few words.....so serious. Daddy buried the little coffin under a tree and the brothers made a little cross marker. Sad but oh so sweet. A year or so later the family moved away. The remaining neighborhood kids would "tend to the grave" for many years after.

Even the littlest of pets touch our lives and teach us big lessons about love and compassion 💜

cowgirl13 and feelinfine - Mandy Cat is all white like little Dixie. Dixie is a Maltese/poodle. Mandy has three pounds and eight years on Dixie. Earlier this summer I thought Mandy was heading to that great catnip field in the sky, but she's rebounded and doing well on a special diet

ok ladies, need a little help here. had a 4-5 week old show up on our doorstep. went to vet & got bottle( can't get anything thru it!) & milk replacement. best way to feed it? used several needles trying to open nipple up, nothing. Vets are closed. How often & how much should I feed it? Appreciate any help. Thanks Fran

Wren, I'm glad too. I knew it was best for the little guy to go to someone more experienced.

I am so sorry KayaRose. We do know how you feel.

I was talking to a casual acquaintance after exercise class last night. Her beloved dog had just died & of course, I had recently lost Oreo. So there we were standing in the hallway of the gym crying our eyes out and hugging. Only fellow pet-people get it!

Ruthbru, sorry for your loss, too. I've lost a dear cousin and a beloved brother in law in the last few months. I feel almost embarrassed to get teary eyed over a cat. Maybe she was the proverbial straw that broke my back. Tears just keep coming.

QuinCat, I'd love to get another kitty but right now isn't a good time. We have a possible move to another state coming up and things are a little unsettled. I'm thinking of volunteering at the shelter just to get my dose of kitty love.
