Happy Birthday LMV!!!
Ladies, I'm a bit nervous because yesterday I was feeling of my right armpit and noticed it was sore. Of course I panicked thinking my cancer has spread to the nodes there. That area has been swollen ever since finishing treatment and they think it's lymphedema. I wear a sleeve when flying which we did on Thursday. I can't feel any nodes I don't think. Anyone know if recurrence symptomsthere would cause pain? Thanks!
-
Luv- armpit pain is what prompted me to get a physical. ..the nurse practioner who did my exam said she didn't feel anything unusual..but ordered ultrsound and that is what discovered cancer. I say this not to add to worry but to encourage ypu to have it checked out. I waited five weeks to have mine checked. However it could be nothing but it would be better to have your mo tell you it is nothing vs waiting! Best of luck I look forward to your it was nothing post;)

LoveMyVizsl Happy birthday dear.
Thx for all the replies ladies. I will definitely check with my medical oncologist on which supplements I should take during chemotherapy.
-
Luv- I had cancer in two lymph nodes upon diagnosis...pain was not the hallmark symptom for me- in fact, I had no pain unless I kept digging in my armpit! I was able to feel them enlarged, though. The fact that you don't easily feel a lymph node is a good sign. Maybe compare how your armpit on one side compares with the other? Pain sounds to me like something to do with your lymphedema?! But, get it checked out!!!
-
nrsteph, I'll admit that wasn't what I wanted to hear, but it doesn't upset me. I'm sorry to see you're Stage IV! I'm coming up on four years since diagnosis so I can't help thinking what if this is the year it comes back/metastasizes?! I don't want to be dealing with it around the holidays for sure! I felt my breast lump on Christmas four years ago and had a bad feeling then. Ugh. Anyway, I'm not home this week so I'm hoping it won't hurt to wait a week to call my doctor or my Onc nurse navigator?!! I'm hoping it's either irritation of some sort or lymphedema!
-
Luv, - I seem to feel pain/discomfort very easily from lifting stretching, sleeping in certain positions, etc. All those surgeries have had quite an effect on our bodies. Even when I go to the dr for an exam, I am sore from all the poking around that the dr does when checking around!
-
Hope you had a great birthday LMV, and many happy returns!

Feeling a bit down today. No problems, feeling pretty good. Some days it all seems unbelievable...like a story I heard or a book I read about a woman with breast cancer. Not me‼️ But, today out of the blue, the thought popped into my head that it was indeed me who had breast cancer and will be forever under the threat that it might come back. I know you've all felt this way. It's so damn hard sometimes to be strong and positive.
-
Annie: Rest assured that we will all be forming a circle around you on the 10th, encircling you with much cosmic love across the miles that separate us all.
Gentle hugs and many prayers....

Cathy- I don't know why some days are easier than others but I know so many people lean on you for support...so I know you have so many to lean on now. We are here for you and you are not alone. Hugs!
-
Cathy,
Smile!

Happy Birthday Lovemy!!
Thanks for asking about me. The biopsy took 45 mins with me getting shoveled in and out of the machine regularly and this one was more painful than the ultrasound guided ones
Thanks everyone else for keeping me in your prayers..
My Biopsy has come back Negative!!!!
The damage to the right breast is understood due to radiation but i wonder why the left breast tissue got damaged too! Will have to investigate further. My nurse briefly mentioned mastectomy to me. If ultimately I had to do a bilateral mastectomy why did i have to take 33 radiations then. Tomorrow ,God forbid, if I really get a recurrence I cannot get radiations anymore. It feels so useless now.

Before you were diagnosed, do you remember how you were feeling?
I do. Back in August, I was always so tired. I'm an active person, and I found it very strange for me to be so tired. My primary care physician ran a few test on me to make sure I was ok. Then in September, I had breast pain and then I found a lump (which explained things).

Great news BanR!!

Hi BanR,
I am happy for the good news about your neg biopsy. I hope everything else would follow. Nice to hear from you again.

Simple - thank you so much. You are too kind.
LMV - Happy birthday!
Luv - so sorry you've got swollen nodes to worry about. I'd run it by your onc just to be safe, but I'm sure it's nothing, especially if you've had this before.
Shopgal - sorry you're down for the count. Hope you feel better soon.
BanR - yay for negative biopsy results! What a relief!!
Goldie - congrats on the clear bone scan!
Annie - thinking of you daily. Sending you love as always. xxx
Saw my breast surgeon this afternoon for a regular follow up. I told her I started losing weight around June, lost about 25 pounds in 3 months, and now it's slowed to losing about a pound every couple weeks or so. Also mentioned the increasing hip pain. I honestly thought she'd give me the usual "wait and see," but that's not what happened. She's said the sudden and drastic weight loss is the most concerning to her. She sent me for labs and an x-ray immediately upon leaving her office and got me in for a whole body bone scan tomorrow morning. All results are labeled STAT. Haven't seen that since I actually had cancer and she was trying to determine if the lesions on my sternum were mets. Needless to say, I walked in not overly worried and walked out more concerned. At least I should have results by the weekend. Blah.
-
BanR, great news on the negative biopsy!
Ally, you'll be in my prayers and I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say I'll be in your pocket tomorrow! ((((HUGS)))) I don't have any swollen nodes. I had some soreness in my armpit when I pressed on it, but it's better so I really think it was because my lymphedema sleeve is too tight. I use it when I fly and I've gained weight so I think just I need a bigger sleeve.
-
Allydp...will be thinking of you tomorrow and praying for negative results. ❤️
-
Hi Cathytoo,
It is good to see you back. I sent you a video when I read that you're feeling a bit down. I hope you like it. I'm always thinking of you. Hope everything's ok now.
Hi Allydp, my prayers are with you too.

you are in my prayers, Allie, please update asap
