I can manage to drive wherever now. Now that I don't have cancer in my sacrum or lungs (just a foreign body there) I feel like a somewhat tired superwoman.

    Ann,
So happy to hear no cancer in your lungs or sacrum.

Bob & I would have loved to join you guys for your get together (he has a 3 day weekend) but we already have plans.

    Hugs,
    Mary

I am out in CA right now working and have not been able to read my personal email since Tuesday. Who's in for lunch then? And where?

If we want to do the Cantebury Village...can someone call in and make reservations? The number is 248-391-1900. With the time change and work and dial up connections, it is somewhat difficult for me to communicate. I will contact Connisue and Barb as well.

If Anna can do Canterbury Village, I will be there. I need directions, however. About 11-ish?

If not, I think she and I will do lunch next week sometime. Since we're both retired, we can do that. Anybody else that is not otherwise committed would be welcome too, of course.

    I'm in.

Kay - Here is their web site: www.canterburyvillage.com There is a map there.

I've been meaning to go there and am looking forward to finally going.

Ann - Great news! I'm so happy for you!

I can call & make the reservation tomorrow (Fri. or Sat.), but how many people do I make the reservation for & is 11 okay with everyone?
Thank you all for all your concern! You are all so supportive & sweet.

Yes, count me in. I'm so ready to celebrate Anna's good news! 11:00 sounds good to me also. I don't know where I'm going yet, but I'll be there.

Are we going to the Tavern or the Castle Grille? I think the phone number is for the Grille. They have a menu on their web site. Here's the link: http://www.canterburycastle.com/thecastlegrille.html

There is also a ton of shopping in the area, like Great Lakes Crossing and a million other stores if anyone needs to do any shopping afterwards.

Well, I just looked and the Grille doesn't open until 4:00, so I assume the Tavern? I think Ann will have to let us know for sure after calling.

Of course, Towers' Treats sounds good, too! Mmmmmm, fudge.

Ha - we are writing at the same time Irene. I saw Towers Treats - double yummm!

It looks like the Banquet Center has a Sunday Brunch:
    http://www.canterburycastle.com/sundaybrunch.html

They all give the same phone number so I guess we will have to wait and hear what is open.

I like the brunch idea. Has anybody else just realized that this place is gonna be JAMMED with people?

Brunch sounds good to me, too. So does fudge.....

Yep, it will most likely be packed. But I'm hoping that the atmosphere will bring out my Christmas spirit. And maybe it won't be too bad since we're getting their right when they open.

It looks like we don't actually need reservations for brunch. I'm really looking forward to this. Lessee--we should make a celebration list. Luckyanna is still NED, I just passed my first anniversary and *I* am still NED. Anybody else with something to celebrate.

Well Fancy - I just realized this minute, when you asked that question, that today (December 15th) in 2003 was my last radiation treatment, after having had chemo prior. Thank the good Lord, it is 3 years ago today I finished up everything!! God bless to all and hope to see everyone on Sunday.

I made a reservation for 8 people for 11 o'clock at the Castle Grill for brunch, but it is $15.95 which may be too pricey. They have pancake station, omelet station, sausage, etc, etc, etc,. The Tavern is also open at 11. They serve the usual soups & sandwiches. The person answering the phone said that average cost would be approximately $9, and they do take reservations. I can call tomorrow morning & change the reservation if you ladies would like me to. I can do either, although the brunch does seem a little over the top, perhaps because Sunday night is the night of my little church's Christmas dinner at a restaurant. Let me know. Now that I'm well, people are giving me things to do. I have to rush out to get a crown & balloons (already got cake & candles & present) for a 60th birthday party for a friend from my NarAnon group (my second ex was an addict, but gave me the wonderful gift of the chance to get to know these wonderful women. That is much like breast cancer--it has given me the gift of knowing you wonderful ladies. Let me know by noon tomorrow where we are eating & if the number changes from 8.

Um, well, I have a brunch Saturday, a Christmas party Saturday night, and I'd prefer to eat less on Sunday (burp!) so I vote for the Castle Grill. I never eat enough to justify the cost of a brunch anyway. But I will go along with the majority. Cast your votes, girls.

Anna, you're back in the saddle again, aren't you? Good to see it. That's more like YOU! <VBG>

I'm definitely for less because I have the same situation here with a number of "eating out" events so would rather not over-do it. That's my vote.

Just walked in from Cali...12:49 a.m. and no luggage...ugh! Please add one more (Connisue) to the reservations...and we are both open to whichever. I went to that brunch last year and was quite surprised that there were not too many people at Cantebury...not the crowds like the mall.

Ok - Is it the Tavern and not the brunch, right?

Geri is coming also. Has Candy been online? I haven't heard if Tonya can make it yet. How are the ladies going through treatment now?

    See you at 11:00 tomorrow!

I'm still NED and My DH is also still NED (quick knock on wood). So we have alot to be thankful for.

The Tavern Grill sounds good to me. Less opportunity to over-indulge. Which I've been doing plenty of lately!

I'm sorry I didn't make it today. I guess I crashed and burned trying to get too much done with my mom in the nursing home. Hope you have a wonderful time!

    Nancy:
So sorry you couldn't make it but it is perfectly understandable!!! I hope you are doing ok - get some rest and try to take care of yourself too. The rest of the gals met at Canterbury Village at the Tavern and we had a really nice time - although we did miss you of course!!
The Village was very festive with everyone doing last minute Christmas things etc. We'll do it again soon and again, take care.
    Hugs,
    Pat

Sorry you crashed, Nancy, but it sounds like you needed sleep more than food. That's OK--we've all been THERE. You missed a fun morning. Next time, huh? And BTW, since you weren't there to defend youself (chuckle, snort) we elected you leader of the group for the Komen walk again next year. See what happens when you snooze?

Hugs to you, lady. Have a wonderful holiday. Same to all my Michigan sisters. Anna, you made my day. You were positively GLOWing!!!

Nancy of course we all missed you a lot because as we all agreed, you are our fearless leader. However, we all understand the need for rest when you are under stress. I'm glad you took the time for yourself to rest and recover your spirits.
Everyone else, this was the BEST time I have in months! I am so glad we got together. It is amazing how a blessing, such as meeting such lovely new friends, can come out of a truly horrible experience. Merry Christmas to all! Kay, I will be praying for you husband.

It was great to see everyone! Nancy - we missed you! Sorry you couldn't make it, but glad you got some much needed rest.

Ann - After we bought our stuff we walked into a room and there were a ton of dog ornaments. Figures! I'm going to try to send you directions on getting a photo on line. I hope I don't just confuse you!

Chris - It was great to meet your daughter! And I meant to ask you to tell Brett hello.

Gerri - When you log in, you can click on a box saying to "Remember Me on Every Visit", or something like that. After that, whenever you go to the boards you'll automatically be logged on.
