It looks like lunch on the 21st is winning out? I voted in both polls but I'm flexible. LorieAnne, give us some suggestions for restaurants down your way in Canton. I know Ford Rd. has a bunch but I haven't been to them to recommend anything.

Hope all is well with everyone. I haven't caught up reading yet to know what is going on.

    Hey Nancy & All,

There is a new resturant where Damon's used to be..but for the life of me I cannot remember the name? We also have the standard fare of resturants along Ford Road, TGIF, Outback, etc.

If you all liked Compari's in Plymouth, that might be good too.

    I'm open:-)

Thanks, Catherine. I wish I lived closer, too!

Am I the only east-sider going? While I don't mind changing restaurants, is it possible to keep it in the same area? I don't want to be a pain, but Canton is a 75 mile drive. If Canton is a lot better for everyone else, I'll deal with it, but I was kind of hoping to at least not have to go farther than Novi.

So who all is coming? Do you think everyone has heard about it, or should we post on other boards?

Hey all...I don't really care where we meet. I can't meet on the 21st though...but I can let Barb and Conniesue know about it. Maybe we should plan the October lunch in one area and then plan another lunch in two months, in another area? I hope all is well with everyone.

I was so excited when I got my Cure magazine and saw Judy B's face on page 6 for the Table of Contents. I turned to the article and yep - there is Judy's picture on page 18 and 19! Yah Judy. Give us the scoop. How did the events unfold and how come you didn't tell us? You look great by the way!

I ran out and got Allure and Ladies Home Journal yesterday so I can catch Stef and Beth's articles. The didn't have Self Magazine on the shelf yet. The article in Allure is very good. I haven't had a chance to read the other articles yet.

How is everyone? I know, I've been awol. I hope we still meet soon. It looks like things are still up in the air?

Hi everyone I have not been on in a while, my mom fell and broke her shoulder and ribs plus really effected her mentally she wanted to come home but after talking to the doctors I knew I had to get her in a rehab place for a while she was not happy.

All the running finally caught up with me and I crashed. Then chemo Wed. which left me totally drained. Went for shot on Thur. The Neulasta.

Not feeling well tonight having extreme hot flashes the last two days my face and neck looks sunburned and feels like it as well, plus the wonderful constipation that my doctor keeps saying is not a usual side effect of chemo that diarrhea is. Well guess I'm unusual.

I voted for any time in Oct. and voted for lunch I have to use a wheel chair so one place is better for me but could meet for lunch and if others wanted to do something after that would work. Would love to get to know you all better. My doctor assistant suggested a group but I have not found any yet.

As long as I can get my chair in I don't care where we go. Right around the same place as Olive Garden is Red Lobster and they can put tables together also for bigger groups.

Thanks for the CURE article not only the fact many of you know this lady I found it very interesting. It was a ductal problem in my left breast that got me to my doctor where I found out I also had two tumors in my right breast they took all three tumors but only one in the right was stage 2 cancer. I found many other interesting articles in CURE so will be getting my own copy soon thanks.

Hope everyone is feeling well. Hugs Jan

I haven't been online here in ages. It was nice to read about you all. I started to get involved in my polical stuff again & was feeling great after 3 hospitalizations this summer--two for my back & one for pneumoia, when I started to go downhill fast again. I went to the dr. who decided that the pneumonia I had had in June-July was still there & even worse I spent a week at home feeling worse & worse & developed terrible diarrhea. Long story short my dr. hospitalized me again. Turned out I had something unpronounceable again which hospital staff call C Diff for short. Apparently all the antibiotics kill off the good stuff in your colon as well as the bad & that allows this bad bacteria to take over & swiftly dehydrate & debilitate you. Usually it is confined to hospitals. My ex-husband's wife almost died of it about 6 months ago. She is a nurse. Anyway I spent another week in the hospital. I'm out now & trying to do my physical therapy exercises on my own, but I am so weak & exhausted. Do you ladies know of anyone else who was completely knocked on her a__ by chemo & continued to be sick two years later? I am looking for some way to break this cycle. It is a good thing that I retired. I would have been compelled to by now anyway. I'd like to make it on the 21st if I haven't contracted anything else by then, but please make it near a freeway. Irene, if you could come to my house, I could drive from here (Rochester Hills).

    Hi Everyone!

So it looks like the 21st is the day? Anyone have any suggestions for where/time? From what I can see, so far we have:

Nancy, me, Jan, Pat, LorieAnne(?) and Ann. Who else is coming?

LorieAnne - I was sincere when I said Canton was fine if it was a problem for anyone to go to Novi. So if you can make it if we have it Canton, that's fine with me.

Chris - That stinks that you can't make it. I'd be up for another lunch in a month or two. I'm always up for lunch.

Ann - Hope you're feeling better. Sounds like you've had a real rough time of it lately. I'd be glad to go with you if you're up to it.

Jan - Sorry to hear about your mom. I hope you and she are doing better. From what I've read (and experienced), constipation is pretty common; although I believe it's the anti-nausea drugs that are to blame. I took something for it starting the day of treatment, then for at least 3-4 days afterward.

Debra - I didn't realize you were in Michigan. I work in Troy. Are you coming to lunch? That's so nice of you to offer to have everyone over. Unfortunately, we're having my in-laws over. Hmmmm, wonder if my DH would mind if I bailed.....

    Looking forward to seeing/meeting everyone.

    Hi All

I've been watching for where and when on the get together. I'd like to come, but got laid off last Friday, so I'm sort of up in the air. Sorry to be a 'maybe' still, but that's sort of my life at present. I'll be thinking of you all if I can't make it.

Hi, Well I guess I'm with Irene and kind of wondering where everyone is and what the plan is? Since this is my first time meeting with you all figured I would just go where ever and what ever time you all decided. Is the lunch still on? Please let us know Jan

Since I have never gone I hate to pick because before when someone said Olive Garden others said you had been there in the past, someone wanted Novi close to expressway and someone was hoping closer to Canton. I really don't care, I can't drive right now so my son will drive me where ever you decide. All I need is for it to be handicap assessable. Someone who has done this before please make a decision, I think this should really be fun. Hope to see everyone Sat. Jan

I am so sorry to say I cannot make it after all this Saturday. My grandson Connell is turning one year old tomorrow and we are going into Chicago on Friday to celebrate it with family. I will definitely make it to the next one!!!!! I miss you all.

Okay. I guess I'll pm everyone who's been on this thread lately and ask them to check in if they want to come and maybe give an idea of where. The only place I've been in the Novi area is Olive Garden, so that's fine with me. A different place would be fine, too. Jan - is the Olive Garden wheelchair accessible? I would think so, but to be honest don't know for sure.

Shel - You can come if I can come to Mexico with you! I'm so envious....I went 10 years ago and would love to go back. That's my birthday weekend, too! Seriously, though, it'd be great if you can come since I didn't get to meet you at the Race. Sphynx can probably give you good directions.

    I'm off to hound everyone....

Hey! I'm available. Thanks for the pm, SEI. The Olive Garden is fine with me, or wherever else the group wants to go. I'm in Fenton--it will be a hike in any case.

Hi again yes the Olive Garden is great for me according to a friend of mine but I have never been there. This is the one over off Novi Rd right? Would it be ok if my son joined us, if not it is ok he can drop me and come back to pick me up.

Thanks Irene for contacting people can't wait to meet you all. Jan

I spent some time last night looking for places and struck out. I'm coming from the West side and I guess I don't get out much to know what these places are like.

So, the Olive Garden it is.

Lori, wish you could join us anyway. I think you are the only one coming from the South except for Candi and Judy. Where have they been? I think the rest of you are coming from the North and North East, right?

Sorry Pat and Chris cannot make it. That adorable grandbaby is a good excuse Pat. You two better make it next time. And Chris, your hubby is now part of the group you know. He should also join us.

Tonya may make it. I'm hoping to twist her 'skinny' arm when I talk to her Friday night. (Pretty please Tonya?)

Gerri - where are you? We will be in your backyard!

Catherine and Mary (kats) - booho, wish you lived closer.

Shel, it will be nice to see you again. I tried to catch up on posts and it looks like you are going through the wringer. We will help you drown your sorrows. I put directions from your neck of the woods below.

Jan, of course your son can join us. We promise we will be on our best behavior (insert evil laugh here).

Anne - didn't know you retired. We will have to catch up on Saturday.

New Anne - What kind of place lays you off when you are going through chemo? Come and join us, we will all give you armchair legal advice. (Do I need to add a disclaimer here?)

mayqueen - Kristy - You haven't checked in for a while. How are you? Join us if you are up to it.

Irene - Thanks for doing the private messages. I've been keeping away from this while at work so my fun time has been cut short! Are you still in a cast? I don't think I've ever met you without an injury. How will I recognize you?

Fancy - Yes, it is the 12 Oaks Novi Rd exit. Here is a map....

So, with that settled, WHAT TIME?

    Olive Garden

Shel - It is an easy reach from 96 so I'll assume you know how to get to 96 from Canada. Take 96 West to Novi Rd exit. The signs will probably also say Twelve Oaks Mall exit. It is South of 96 so you are heading away from the mall but there is another smaller shopping complex across the street.

Take that first light leading into that little shopping complex called Crescent Blvd and it will be on your left.

Here are directions from Windsor, Ontario...Hey, you are closer than me!

What about 11, maybe, and eat at 12. That way we can avoid the crowds, or at least get a good table. Would we need reservations since we're a big group?

I think we met at 11:00 last time, didn't we? I think we were the first ones in the restaurant. Or was it 11:30?
