    So pretty, wish there was scenery like that where I live.

    I am pleased to say managed 2x20 min brisk walk around the neighbourhood.. Tomorrow will try for some stationary bike.

    Beautiful photo, Heidi. What a great place for biking.

    Z-glad you are able to work through the pain and keep moving. For me, it's a fine line sometimes when determining whether to gently keep moving, or let the hurting part rest. Usually movement wins, and as long as I don't over do it, it's okay.

    Mara-sounds like you're making great progress. So happy to hear that you are up and doing things.

    Shazza-I am so impressed with all that you've done, preparing for the upcoming walk. Yep, awesome!

    Wasn't able to get out much today but did go for a quick ride on my horse this morning. Yesterday was morning bike ride, and then swim in the afternoon. Amazing how a 450 yard swim can suck me dry of all energy. Definitely need to keep getting in the pool.

    Swimming is just awesome exercise. The fatigue has to do in the part with the way it detoxifies your body by moving lymph around and exercising every muscle. I need to work some swimming in to the routine.

    Today I walked for a couple hours and will do some strength training tonight. Did a lymphatic drainage session. Tired, a little spaced, but not too bad.

    Way to go Mara! Although it sounds like a lot of exercise for someone recovering from radiation, it is likely the right amount of exercise for you.

    No formal exercise for me today except for cutting and shaving my hair bald. It was falling out fast but was so messy. It also felt like would take too long so I just did it myself. Looks and feels much better.

    Mara - Sent you 3X60 seconds of plank this morning, but otherwise I am resting today. Picking up my daughter for a facial and massage in 30 minutes.

    Congratulations on the new look. Way to deal pro-actively with your hair falling out. Another step towards healing ...

    Enjoy the massage Z, I swear I can feel the strength of those planks. I am pretty happy about the hair too.

    Great to hear of everyone's activity, and glad you are feeling just a bit better, Mara. Planked 90 seconds for you this morning! Can't seem to get to two minutes, but I'm working on it.

    Zarovka, I only recently started running. I don't generally have joint or pain issues, but I do if I start running. However, if I can push past the first 1/8 mile or so, then it starts to go away. I'm wondering if maybe that's the Letrazole. Helps to know that might be the issue, so thank you for sharing.

    I do have a bit of pain in the knee when I run, which actually caused a bit of anxiety this week. I had scans on Monday and when I got my results sent to me the next day, it showed a new spot in my bone scan just below my knee on the tibia. They thought possible mets to that bone, but I tried not to worry while waiting to see my onc today. After talking with her, and remembering that I had actually fallen on a rock on that very same spot earlier this summer, she concluded that it was almost certainly the healing from that as all the other scans were good, and the fact that I've started running again may have exacerbated it further causing the bone scan to light up a bit there. I was very relieved!

    Ran/walked 2 miles tonight. 3 push ups. 90 second plank in morning and 60 second one tonight.

    DGHoff - It's hard to figure out which pain comes from where but the ones that go away with exercise are letrozol. Glad your scans were good. Scans are as misleading as pain sometimes. Very tricky to interprete.

    Heading downstairs for a cardio workout with my daughter. Good long flowy yoga class this morning worked through a lot of aches and pains.

    Did a 1-minute plank before our deadline today. Mara, hope life without bad hair days is good!

    DGHoff, very relieved for you, too!

    Bionic, as Z said, swimming moves lymph around a lot. Like a massage.

    Speaking of massages, they really helped with my letrozole aches and pains as well as exercise soreness from trying to deal with letrozole aches and pains. I aso read somewhere that a massage can increase immune cells by 10%. More recently, a study showed massage can improve vascular function with a sustained response for a number of days even without exercise.

    Heidi - I have in fact added massage to my routine, and it is a big big deal in managing letrozol side effects.

    Short strength training workout with my daughter this morning. Long day of mountain biking tomorrow.

    I am still here. Enjoying your planks.

    I am sleeping well at night now, still tired but functioning much better after only a week since radiation ended.

    I have most been pedaling a small peddler while watching TV to keep the legs up. It's been terrible weather here with the rain so walking was not happening. I have managed to pedal approx an hour a day. Still working my way up to the bigger exercise bike since it will provide more cardio work.

    Good info on the massage and movement Heidi. As always, you astound me with your exercise Z, DG glad for you as well.

    Mara - Healing is going to take a long time, but I am SO glad the radiation and the steroids are past. I am looking forward to hearing about your progress. I did 15 knee-down pushups today and collapsed. Not sure I want to send you that vibe. I can't believe how weak I am compared to how I used to be. But I am feeling a little bit more energy every day. Something is working. Not sure what.

    Acupuncuture? Lymphatic Drainage? Energy Work? Massage? Yoga? Exercising even though I did not want to? Supplements? Not having dental surgery or antibiotics recently? That is the problem with the full court press approach. I have no idea why I feel better. But I will take it.

    I got to 3 HIIT hour longclasses this week it felt amazing to be getting back to what I was before my stroke and radio surgery. My goal is to keep that up until my 33rd bday and start in on some gentle yoga again 😍

    Pagej - great progress, great plan. Let us know how it goes. I used to be a hatha yoga fiend, now I gravitate to challenging but relatively gentle classes. So many options with yoga, depending on where you are.

    everyone is doing so well. Just the usual yoga, Pilates and walking for me. My 21k walk is a week away. Getting excited. Lots of changeable Spring weather here but Daylight saving started here last week so the evenings are much lighter so I'm hoping to get a little more activity in after work now.

    Hey Shazzy that is exciting !! I want do a 21k walk how many miles around 10? Have fun!

    PS I hate it when we loseour daylight time :(


    Sarovka my hubby does bikram but after radiation to my head there was no way, I used to go on Saturdays.. Just need anice stretch and meditation. Haven't done much yoga in my day. But I'm so inflexible I know I need to.

    HI everyone-have had a good, busy weekend here. Chemo on Friday, but then the fun stuff. Both daughters and my college student niece here to celebrate her birthday. My brother and a friend came too. Activities were mostly eating and bike riding.

    Tomorrow's plan is to get back to healthy eating, and go for a swim and bike ride with DD before she heads back to her home.

    I've been doing massage for many years to move lymphatic fluid in my comprised arm. Lately I've been using a soft brush all over-neck, arms, legs, feet-as a massage tool. I follow this with a rub down with a wet cloth, and then rub on lotion (Alba lotion with added essential oils) on any sore spots. When I am finished I feel great and it only takes me about 10 minutes to do this quick refresher.

    Great to hear about everyone's activities. Hope you all have a good week and keep up the good work.

    Bionic Bunny - The lady who did my lymphatic drainage says the soft brush is as good or better for moving around the lymph that having someone do it for you. It's good to have someone show you how to do the strokes as the direction and pattern seems to matter. You are trying to move the lymph to major lymphatic ducts and out of your system. But are the principles are easy to grasp and the treatment is free.

    Paying attention to my lymphatic system this has been hugely helpful for me. I had a great day, with surprising energy. A couple hours of mountain biking. Not a whole lot of exercise, but it was busy socially and long. I never really deflated as has been happening at some point almost every day. I seem to be on the right path.

    There are other Videos on YouTube but just looked at this one. I had manual lymph drainage and scar massage combined with progressive weight training as a lymphedema prophylactic according to a protocol I saw in a Spanish study. I definitely would try skin brushing (on the face, too!) as a continuing prophylactic.

    I also bought myself a massage device with infra red at a trade fair on Saturday. It felt so good.

    Biked about an hour just running errands.

    Heidi and Z-yes, the brushing is great. I went to a lymphadema clinic about 15 years ago and learned how to massage my arm, and also how to wrap it with compression. It's only been recently that I've started doing the brushing. I was skeptical at first, but it really does seem to help.

    DD and I did a short bike this morning and then swam. Went home, had lunch, covered up with a cozy blanket while watching tv, and promptly fell asleep. Not what I had planned!

    Bike ride with my friend first thing tomorrow morning so I need to go to bed. Hope everyone is having a good week.

    Since I will be away this weekend and probably not able to post, I wanted to send best wishes to Shazza for a great walk. I hope it goes really well for you and will be looking forward to hearing about it.

    Got out for a bike ride this morning and a walk this afternoon. We are enjoying beautiful fall days here and it just feels good to be outside. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Thanks for the well wishes Bionic Bunny. We have had nothing but awful stormy weather all week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather improves in time for tomorrow. 21ks in thunder, lightning and pouring rain doesn't sound like much fun.

    I'm looking ahead to what I can do next once this walk is done and dusted so the following weekend I'm trying Dragon Boating. Has anyone tried that?

    Hoping everyone is feeling well and able to keep active.

    I think Wendy on the Ibrance thread is our resident lead as far as dragon boating goes.

    Shazza - hoping for good weather.

    Tired and shaky today but still got through a bike ride and a yoga class. Fell off the bike, wasn't wearing padding because it was an easy familiar ride. The fall was purely from shakiness. Not sure what is going on with my balance and shakiness. I am feeling sorta okay and sorta not okay at the same time. Huge raspberry on my hip from the fall.

    Dinner with my 10 year old and then we see the shanghai acrobats at the local theater. All sitting down, so no imminent threats to my wellbeing tonight.

    Oh Z, sorry to hear about your balance and falling off the bike. Hope that hip feels better soon. Being off balance sucks no matter the cause. Hope you can find your cause so it doesn't happen again.

    Not much exercise for me, been really tired, still sleeping a lot and giving myself time. Eating is getting better I will say. The GI issues from the steroids are going away. Am able to eat as normal which does help. Am still trying to reliably ride my stationary bike daily.

    My cat is causing me stress. Poor thing has been dealing with weight loss and she got put on the back burner since my tumour diagnosis, surgery and radiation ate up two months on us. We did get her to the vet today. Awaiting some blood tests. We want to be sure her kidneys can take the medication and check her cardiac function as well. Vet agrees seems like hyperthyroid since appetite is still high, still drinking and social. Bathroom habits are same. She is elderly so not willing to do surgery but can do medication provided she can take it and kidneys not too far gone. Will find out from vet to morrow. My fingers are crossed.

    Finally have an appt with MO next week to see what she plans to do with me since no mets from neck down yet. Hopefully the brain met behaves ( no multiplying ) after surgery took out most of it and all the radiation from the whole brain. My prognosis is not great, but would like to have some extra time. Fingers crossed there too.

    Hope weather improves Shazza, everyone seems to be moving great, hope to join that soon.

    Z, ouch on that fall. Hope you feel better and the shakiness goes away.

    Went for a fall hike in the 800-year old vineyards along Lake Geneva.  It's right before harvest time so we could buy some grapes.

    mara glad things are improving and healing and recuperating is under way.

    I'm cancer free except for my shrinking brain met, I know we have different types of breast cancer but my doctors are just keeping close eye. I get body scans every 3 months with tumor marker tests and so far 2 scans have been clear.

    There's no chemo for me just watching making sure nothing more pops up. My drs give me great hope that this brain met was it and someday I'll be no longer getting the scans every 3 months.

    Just to give you an idea of what follow ups might be for you as well. I have met another brain only who takes Herceptin and is doing well 6+ yrs later and some who don't take any chemo also doing well years later
