Wonderful to hear that word stable. I was hoping that would be the case. I am sorry for the time spent in fear but glad that it turned around.
-
WHEW.
Exhaling and rejoicing. Yay, Z!

YES YAPAYAHOO. Yeah Baby!! So glad you are stable. I don't have any decreases either but not much going on overall. I was not aware of the 108 salutations. With a little planning and a few breaks that would be an interesting challenge indeed.
My new fitbit should arrive tomorrow morning so I'll be chasing you soon.

DG and Z
We are rejoicing with you both. Great way to glide into Christmas!
-
Wow Z what a Christmas gift this will be holy cow. I'm so happy to here this you are doing everything right it will be better of this I am a totally sure. Great timing 22nd of December Santa is coming
-
<Z> Congratulations on being stable!!! Now you can rest easy and enjoy your trip and the Holidays. Thank you for updating us with the proper scan. I can't even imagine a mistake like that. It is hard enough dealing with the scans but to have the wrong one is just awful. Enjoy your family and keep working hard!! Many Hugs!!

Way to go, DG and Z!!! Happy Holidays, indeed. Z, that was scary. Hard to believe things like that can happen.
I probably should look up first what it is but I'm with you guys on the 108 salutations, especially your take on the numbers, DG.
-
well I think most of us kept our heart rates up with our concern for you Z during that saga!!!
AndI've also kept my heart rate up running. Am comfortable with my 5 miles now and feeling good. Getting out every day which is helping to keep those morning blues at bay.
Hope everyone has a really happy Christmas xx

One funny side note ... the PET scan found that I have a "healing fracture" on my sixth rib on the left side. So one of the four mountain bike crashes did in fact break a rib. It happens to be in an area near the primary tumor. There is a constant mild to moderate pain. It's good to know that it's just a broken rib and not the cancer going nuts. With MBC, the bright side can be ... a broken rib!
-
Z - I actually found out the same thing from my PET and CT scans, that I have a healed rib fracture. Though I think mine was from a waterski wipe-out a few years back and doesn't hurt anymore. Funny what goes on inside of us!
For those who don't know what a sun salutation is - here's a picture of the sequence that I typically do. There are loads of variations on sun salutations, but this is a common one. Doing 108 of these takes about 90 minutes. I've only done the entire 108 about four times ever. You definitely feel it the next day! Maybe for the spring equinox I will work toward doing the full number.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
-
Thanks, DG! You have given me a goal to work for til the end of winter.
Regarding rib pain, I used to have it too but have never shown signs of fracture. I always thought it was the rib joints as I had lots of joint pain, but I just found out that according to TCM rib pain belongs to the liver meridian. Makes sense that my liver was not happy during chemo.
MSL, you are doing an amazing job!
-
My replacement Fitbit did not arrive before I had to leave for Utah, so you are all free to enjoy the holidays without competing with me for steps.
Long drive from farmington to Page, AZ with a stops at the four corners and valley of the gods. Very tired and a little shaky. Scan results took it out of me even though they turned out well. The plan for the evening is to lie around and research hikes for the weekend.
If it rains, I will do a bunch of sun salutations ...
Merry xmas all
Keep moving

Had some last minute shopping so managed a lot of steps through the grocery store. Probably walked on/off for over half an hour. Closer to an hour in my mind.
Hope everyone else is moving as much as they want to. If I am not back on, for those that celebrate, Merry Christmas, if not, Happy Holidays anyway.
-
Looks like we all have been busy off on adventures or something as it's been quiet here! I, for one have had my best week of fitness in a long time! I went out to California for a few days to visit family and did lots of walking along the beach and some hiking in the canyons. With the extra time off from work this weekend, I also had a lot more time to do some walking and jogging around home. Feeling great and wishing you all a wonderful, active New Year!
-
I went off supplements entirely last week during my vacation in our new National Monument (surprise!) and my legs have become extremely weak. It was hard to climb the two flights of stairs in my house with my suitcase when we came home today. I am hoping that going back onto curcumin and friends will solve it. However, I still got a lot of hiking in and had a great vacation in SE Utah.
We've all had a well deserved break. My new Fitbit is charging as I write. Anyone who wants to join the Stage V fitbit community, please PM me with your private email address and get ready to take us on in 2017.

Welcome back all! I had a lot to eat and drink over Christmas. But kept up the running and walking. Hopefully cancelled each other out
Z, there was discussion some time ago about the new thread for 2017 and giving proper recognition to dear Nancy. I think it would be good if you started the thread given your huge role in motivating us all.
Here's to the new year!
-
Great job on the hiking Z. Sorry about the leg weakness but am hopeful your supplements will take care of that.
I have mostly been walking doing errands but satisfied withthat.
May we all have a good 2017.

Hi ladies,
Can't believe I didn't find this thread sooner. I am 21 pounds heavier since I started my first treatment in June 2015. I really want the weight off. I used to be very active, worked out consistently, but now the joint pain has taken over. I also lack the necessary motivation. I have a trip planned to Panama with my girlfriends in September 2017 and I want to have some of the weight off. I am sometimes so tired after work, that I plop down on the couch and don't get up until it is time for bed.

Mara - Good to hear from you. Wonderful to hear about your activities. The Fitbit has been useful in showing me with hard data that a trip to Walmart is quite a hike.
MSL I was initially hesitant to move the thread because I don't want to confuse people but I have had it with 2016. What a year. Let's call it over and start a new thread.
We'll have to keep an eye on this thread and redirect the lost for a little while...
2016 and this 2016 thread is officially over. Done. Done. Done.
Ladies we're going to move our community to Stage V MBC Fitness.

Monika, the fact that you have the energy to work is amazing to me with the drugs you are on. I am not surprised you are so tired by the end of the day. I found for myself that morning was the best time to do anything, even just a small walk as I had not used up my energy throughout the day. If that is possible for you, it might make it easier, even just to kickstart things and provide more energy for your working life. Glad you found this thread, everyone is great. New thread is here Stage V Fitness. Link here https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topics/851580?page=1#idx_1
If you already visited there, forgive my repeating of the link.
I plan to join the fitbit part when I am able to exercise more reliably. I want to do something every day, even 5 mins since I do not work at this point. Not ready for everyone to see my lack of progress some days.
-
Oh my goodness Z, I just caught up from Xmas and have seen your amazing news. I am SO glad for you. You are such an inspiration to me and so many other people on this site, I'm sure I'm not the only person who was very shocked and saddened by your apparent progression. You've made my day!
-
Thank you so much Cath3rine. I find that I am still not over the shock of the (erroneous) progression news even though the news turned out good in the end. This is a tough mental challenge. I appreciate your thinking of me.
We decided to kill this 2016 thread along with the whole damn mess that was 2016 and start afresh. Looking forward to hearing about your fitness strategies and accomplishments in the new year on the new 2017 MBC Fitness Thread.

Thanks Z - just posted in your new thread.
-
Hi, I have joined a Water Wellness class through the YMCA. It gives you cardio and stretching with low impact in the pool! I go three days a week!
-
Hi Ronnie. We decided to kill this thread and start afresh. Looking forward to hearing about your fitness strategies and accomplishments in the new year on the new 2017 MBC Fitness Thread.
You can't do better than water fitness class. Definitely stick with that plan.
