Ruth, They are both gorgeous cats.
-
Yes, we have cute cat relatives!
-
This thread is delightful. What beautiful cats! I have long suffered from a chronic illness that unfortunately has left me rather isolated, and the companionship of felines has been a significant factor in what mental health I have left. This is Vika, who made it clear to me early on that she preferred drinking from glasses rather than the water bowl that is insultingly on the floor, and then when she discovered flower vases, that was it.
-
how cute. I have a dog, she will only eat if her bowls are on the carpet, and it took awhile to find the right bowl
-
I think it is safe to say that we all know who is the master and who is the pet in our households!
-
Vika, is one unusual cat. ;o))
-
Yes, I realize this isn't a cat; but I thought you'd enjoy an update on Stella, the grand-puppy. She doesn't much like her leash, as you can see.
-
There is a saying that goes, "Dogs have owners. Cats have servants." I've been the mother to both and I do believe cats do wrap us around their paws more than dogs do, IMHO
-
Fascinating about Vika.
My late Beastie only drank with her paw, scooping the water out of the bowl. The only cat I ever personally met that did that. I think a while back on this thread someone mentioned a cat of theirs who also did that.
Ruthbru that photo of Jasmine has such beautiful lighting, it looks like an oil painting.
-
Ruth, that's what my Shelby used to look like. She is 15 no
-
Ruth, I agree about Jasmine's photo. You could print it on the oil painting paper and frame it. No one would guess.
-
True confession: the picture was a little dark so I messed around with the photo editing options on my phone. It's amazing the amount of technology a camera phone contains. No need for a 'real' camera at all!
-
Vika has been a source of endless joy for me. She is the only cat I've ever had who plays fetch -- she'll bring a favorite toy to me, drop it at my feet, and wait for the thrill of the toss. She was left in a local pet supply store, where I'd gone to buy food and litter for my other cat. Her previous owner (she had been dumped at least four times in her first five months of life) had a dog that just wouldn't leave her in peace. So there she was, in a cage behind the sales desk, looking around watchfully. She's a very resilient little spirit, considering her rough start, she has done very well.
Ruthbru, what a great picture of a gorgeous dog, and Jasmine is stunning, too.
-
Ah, we are lucky to be 'pet people'. I feel sorry for people who aren't!
-
Hi Everybody. I occasionally come over to this thread to check out all the cute cat pictures. Here is a picture of my 15 year old sister cats. They looked like vultures who wanted my English muffins.
-
Hi Wonderland, what beautiful "twins".
-
-
Ronnie, brother of Jasmine.
-
I better give my other cat, Henry, a picture too.
-
I think I have cat separation anxiety. Been gone a while now.
-
Hopefully a great reunion...

Arthur

Arthur is gorgeous!
-
Arthur reminds me of my sweety Percy cat when he was healthy. Percy is a brown tabby with red undercoat. He drinks from the water bowl off his paw! He's always done that and the only cat I have ever had that does. None of my other cats drink like that. We stopped giving my old boy his thyroid med and he seems soo much happier. He's thinner of course but purring more, more energy and clearly happier. The faster thyroid must provide better blood supply to his kidneys. He is so affectionate and eats up a storm. Poor old guy.
I love all the pictures such beautiful cats and Stella is adorable.

DS is out of state on vacation next week, so DH & I will be the 'custodial parents' of four cats and a dog. Could be interesting since my two old cats hate:
1. change
2. other cats
3. dogs, especially bouncy puppies
CIRCUS TIME!

Awhh Ruth where is your sense of adventure!! Haha How could such a cute puppy be a bother to other cats! Actually when I cat sit my DD2's huge Siamese I leave him in one bedroom with the door shut. There is WWlll if he is out.
I need to ask you all for some information. DD2's four year old cat got a UTI about 5 months ago. Then 2 days ago he was straining to pee and miserable and my DD2 took him to urgent vet care to the tune of 378... ugh. But they gave him fluids and antibiotics and flushed him out. Turns out he had crystals and no UTI. So they want to change his food. He was on Salmon and sweet potato. My DD2 is a poor college kid and Hills urinary formula is like 65$ a bag. So I looked on line and read that Purina One Urinary Tract formula has good reviews and is more palatable and 25$ for 16 pounds. My question to you all is have any of you used it? Did the cat eat it and most importantly did it work to control the crystals?
