Anyone on the trials for Venetoclax phase 2 for breast cancer patients?

There are already news reports out that the drug works beyond just CLL. AND it has NO side effects.

It's currently seeking FDA approval.

I am currently on a ventaclax trial in Melbourne Australia. I am in a dose escalation trial. The first group of women were on 400mg daily with tamoxifen, my group are on 600 mg daily with tamoxifen and the last group of women are on 800mg daily with tamoxifen. Prior to starting on ventaclax I had been on Ibrance so my white cell counts were on the low side but in the first week I developed febrile neutropenia and cellulitis of my unaffected breast and was hospitalised for a week on antibiotics. The first 3 months I lost 22 pounds because of overwhelming nausea. Initially my mets decreased by 30% however my tumour markers are on the rise again. My second 3 months have been much easier side effects wise but I am having scans tomorrow and I am predicting progression. My tumours did have the bcl2 over expression so in theory this drug should have worked for me. None of the women that I know of on the trial have found this drug easy

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that!

I hope things work out for you, I really appreciate your sharing. I hope the benefits are permanent and the side effects just fade away :)

When I read the news report, I just had such high hopes. Guess if it sounds too good to be true,...
