Long Term Survivors of Stage IV TNBC

As a newly diagnosed Stage IV TNBC, it would be very comforting to know that it is possible to live. It seems that most of the wonderful women posting with Stage IV TNBC have bee stage IV for under two years. Are there any women out there who have lived longer than three years with STAGE IV TNBC??? Even if you don't post often, please post something if you exist...I am drowning. Thank you!

    Thanks for starting this thread! I am newly diagnosed and have been wondering the same thing. I have a small child and could really use some reassurance.

    nrsteph and Alcarroll, there is a topic titled Triple Negative and Checking in at 7 year Cancerversary by a member called Kskier. You'll find it very inspiring as she was diagnosed while pregnant and stage IV for over 7 years now. I have a very dear friend who is triple negative stage IV and needed to see that as well.     I was diagnosed in 2008 with TNBC and it came back to the brain 4 years later. After surgery and STR I am still here NED 4 years later. There is always hope!

    I was diagnosed stage IV TNBC in June 2009. I have been NED and without treatment since March 2014. Statistics are improving and there are more and more of us living well and long with this disease.

    Embmom & Lotusblossom- Thank you so much for posting! That is so great to hear. Would you mind me asking a few questions? I checked in on this thread everyday until there was only my request day after day. My heart couldn't stand it so I stopped checking. So glad there are finally responses!!!! You are lifesavers! Thank you, all I need to know is that is possible and I will do it too!!

    Welcome nrsteph. Kskier here. I do exist. I didn't realize I was so famous, not that this is the place I would have ever chosen for my notoriety.

    It is indeed true that I first knew I might have a problem while pregnant in 2008. I was confirmed stage 4 the following year. You don't hear so much from me here since I work full time and have two children...and of course fight cancer. It can be done. Some days are hard, but most days are a precious gift for which I am grateful.

    I am thankful for the friend who insisted that I travel to a top research hospital. I am thankful for the dedication and hard work of the doctors there doing the research, and for the drug companies who continue to innovate. I was also just lucky to have been in the right place at the right time with a body chemistry that works with the trial that was open that day. As smart as the doctors are, they really don't have the answer why this is.

    I understand that "drowning" feeling. We all do. But it IS possible to LIVE, and to live well. There are more of us out there than we know. I am optimistic that they are just too busy living to join us here.

    So wonderful to find this thread. My sister was Dx March 29, 2017 with Stage 4 TNBC mets on lung and liver. We're desperately looking for other women to give us hope and to share experiences with. God bless you all
