I finally caught 2 of these little buggers on my feeder today - YAY!!!
-
Way to go mjs! I have that exact same feeder. This is the first year for mine and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
-
anyone tried a binoculars with camera built in? Im not advanced enough to have an expensive camera, and would love to take snaps while at binocular zoom...I see several on the market for about $100..anyone tried or have one?

The only bird pic taken during the Summer.
*purple finch*
May still get a hummer pic during the Fall.
-
White stork, Croatia.
-
Lovely white stork pic! :o)
-
Wonder if they have to get up there and remove the nest in the fall so they can light a fire?
-
I guess the nests can weigh up to 600 pounds, so some communities are building nesting platforms to lure storks to build their heavy, smelly nests somewhere nearby but not on the roofs.
-
Teka hope you get a pick of a hummer before they go. I think some of mine have already migrated. I still have some here but the nectar is not drastically going down like last week. I hear the juveniles are the last to migrate. After having my new patio built my birdfeeder that was a good one for pictures i moved to a tree. I do have a new feeder that was a present on a shepherd hook and the chipmunks think that is their personal stash.
Wow, that stork on the roof is something to see.
Aviva, I am into photography and love birds but I don't have really good binoculars even though I love taking pictures of birds. I really don't have much to offer you as I just don't know anything about binoculars that can take pics. I am not surprised though since now all the fancy cameras in the cell phones. Good luck.

Today was my 1st sighting and pic of a monarch butterfly during 2016. ;o)

Labor Day was my 1st pic of a ruby-throated hummingbird during 2016.
I accidentally took a digital silhouette pic. ;o)
The hummer is getting nectar from the acapulco salmon and pink agastache, also known as hummingbird mint.

A weasel pic taken from Facebook.
Occasionally, we see weasel tracks in the snow where the rodents eat bird seed. Easy meal for the weasel. -
Cute weasel pic.
There were 5 different water birds at the pond across the street from me this morning. Great blue heron. white egret. Muscovy ducks and 2 others that I'm not sure of. No pic,,,, sorry.
-
Wow! What a cool array.
-
What a cute little weasel. I have never seen a white one before.
-
hi birdlovers - just found you by accident
Love the sweet weasel pic - I see them occasionally when I go to the lake - they turn white in winter to blend with snow [like some wild rabbits] and their fur sometimes has little black spots on tail and nose tip -- think of Henry VIII and his 'ermine' fringed robes - ermine sounds so much more royal than winter weasel
I love the hummingbirds too - they fly all the way up here in summer [central BC] but are long gone during our wintery deep freeze!
-
phoebe58, Hi and Welcome!!
We still have ice and snow in the North Country.
The red-winged blackbirds and robins have returned.
The following was taken from on-line.
This sea turtle in the Southern Great Barrier Reef is over 100 years old.
