Hi just started my second cycle of xeloda and my left arm and leg have radiating pain and weakness. Anyone else out there? I am ready to give up. Its only been a year since dx and I have progressed with each treatment. Dont know if its the bone mets or meds. Someone talk me off the ledge

My mother got 18+ months out of Xeloda and did have some muscle and joint pain while on it. She said it felt like a deep, tired aching. Scans were stable every time she complained of the pain.

Hope that helps. To this day Xeloda remains her easiest treatment out of the 4 she's been on since her mets dx.

    Hi Sue,

It's been almost 5 years on X, recently AIs added to the treatment :)

Fatigue is the most common SE, regular afternoon naps are strongly suggested. Bone aches are and tissue pain is normal, as a natural part of having MBC, I'm afraid. Not just a SE of X. Good news is the pain & aches are managable and even prevented with the right painkillers. Your MO can suggest a good pain doc alıng the MBC treatment road.

X is a strong gun.. Hope it helps and I am happy to say aside the SEs, it's definitely worth keep going on each line of treatment.. One day at a time.. I added one activity per day as my new motto. Trust me, life is much easier and happier helping the meds work properly by not pushing your energy limit too far. You need rest, relax and keep positive around you.

    Hugs

    Ebru
